How to Set Up a Low Cost Website For a Small Business

More and more small businesses are now seeing the need to have a presence on the internet. Because they are small, their budget for doing this is also small. So how do small businesses get themselves onto the internet without have to learn web design and without it costing too much?

The first step is research. Many website hosts will offer packages that include hosing, domain name and web design. You will need to do a search for hosting companies and do a comparison of what each one offers.

Some companies offer free hosting but their domain names are more expensive than others are. Others will offer low priced domain names but will charge a monthly fee for hosting. The best way to compare the different hosting companies is to work out how much the yearly cost is for the hosting and domain name combined. This will give you a total figure that can be easily compared.

However, what if you need someone to design your website too? As I said above, some hosting companies will offer this service in a package with your hosting and domain name. Again, you will need to work out a yearly total for comparison. There are also many web designers who would be willing to design your site for you at a reasonable price. A good place to look for web designers in the freelance websites, as these designers are usually people who are working from home, not big corporations, so their prices should be reasonable.

To compare the cost of hiring a web designer with the hosting package that includes web design, just add the total cost of the hosting and domain name to the cost of hiring a web designer.

The other things you will need to consider in comparing web hosting companies is the expected downtime, the amount of space you are able to use to host your site, the amount of bandwidth allowed, the number of email accounts allowed as well as whatever other special benefits they may offer.

So, what you need to do to set up a low cost website for your small business is research. Research website hosts and website designers. Work out the total cost per year. Compare the website size and bandwidth. Finally, you will need to contact the company that has the package you are looking for.

However, before you sign up for anything, you also need to make sure that they can deliver what you want for your web design and your web site. Make sure that your web designer is able to show you examples of sites they have designed so that you can see what they are capable of. This will give you a good idea on whether they will be able to deliver what you want for your website.
