From Crisis to Change! Crisis: The Best Thing That Ever Happened to Us!

 

 

As we all know, we all hate crisis and turbulent times in our lives. We struggle! We fight against it! It just feels bad!

 

But if each of us was to look back over our lives, and look at the WORST of times in our lives, I think most of us would say that it actually created some of the best of things in us or for us, and we just wouldn't change that for the world. Those WORST of times became the most fabulous gift that the universe could have provided us.

 

You often times hear of someone getting laid off of their 20 year career job, they find themselves in difficult straights, they feel like they are at the end of their rope, but they get creative and find something brand new. They start a new business, for example, and are happier than they ever thought possible.

 

Someone gets divorced. They feel like they are the victim in the situation, and have to start all over, support their kids on their own or whatever.  But when they look back on it, they always comment how they made it thru and what they got from it was infinitely better than what they perceived they had lost at the time...freedom, closeness to their kids, strength of character, etc.

 

So instead of hating crisis, why don't we decide that it is the universe's way of creating opportunity for us, and accept it as the gift that it is.

 

So then if this is the case, these turbulent economic times are really a gift to each of us providing us with infinite possibilities. So we have just found something to be grateful for, haven't we? If we take this approach, we can now start to look for the gift in the crisis, and be ahead of the situation, instead of being miserable in the midst. We can now be excited in the midst of it and find our gift and utilize it, instead of realizing it months or years from now. Just think how much time and energy we waste by struggling thru it, rather than realizing the gift now.

 

So what are some gifts that may be hidden in the crisis we are facing in this economy for small businesses?

  1. We find a network of friends/associates/partnerships that we didn't know we had.
  2. We discover the loyalty of our employees.
  3. We discover new markets.
  4. We discover that we needed to fix our books and get them on track.
  5. We discover our business needed some revamping in order to be truly successful, instead of just skimping by.
  6. We discover how loyal our customers are to us.
  7. We discover things that we need to fix.
  8. We discover that we are a lot stronger and more creative than we thought.
  9. We discover who our real friends are.
  10. We realize how much control we have over our destiny and are no longer a victim.
  11. We find what we really wanted to do, rather than what we resigned ourselves to doing.
  12. We streamline our companies that were in desperate need of it.
  13. We discover what our strengths are.
  14. We get more honest with ourselves
  15. We find that what was lost was what we needed to loose and found what we had been searching for all along.

 

This list could go on forever. Why don't you sit for a moment and think of what you see as changes that will come of your personal crisis in the midst of our global crisis and add to the list. Believe me, you may feel very excited after doing this exercise. Write me and let me know what has happened, what changes you have seen for the good.
