Report presentations to provide clarification of your financial position

After the day to day bookkeeping, payroll, reconciliations, and inventory are up to date the next task is preparing reports. Many bookkeepers only print the reports that Quickbooks or Simply Accounting generates. If you ask them to explain the reports most of the time they can't. These reports tend to be confusing to read as well.

Proper preparation of financial reports are of critical importance for

your business. Not to be done by just anyone. Not to be quickly

printed from Simply Accounting or Quickbooks by a nonaccounting

person.

The reports need to be a simple presentation of your financial position. When look at the reports will easier see how you are doing.

Reports shouldn't have a lot of columns and subtitles. Some businesses require supplementary reports like projections in order to clarify future performance.

The accounting professional that works with you should be able to maintain the financial management and produce report presentations of your company.

Re: What Businesses to Bail Out? Re: What Businesses to Bail Out? - Very true - I agree that only certain businesses will be "rescued". Sad for the American public that its the companies who are billions+ in trouble. It has certainly been a bad week in the US financial world. I was even watching special coverage of an overseas financial market last night. Lots of ripples through the financial community. Its sad that nothing is in place to actual oversee and truly regulate the financial industry. To many people refuse to be accountable and they leave the rest of us holding the bag. Shri
Re: Job market slump is a guy thing Re: Job market slump is a guy thing -

Doesn't seem to me like this woman is very smart.. you don't apply to be a receptionist while you're drivng a BMW! Unless it's a receptionist for Donald Trump or some super-rich corporation, I suppose... I think, for many people... the woman is getting the second job in a marriage or whatever...and so doesn't need to make as much money as the man, who is still the primary provider for the family and can't afford to take a lesser paying job, since 99% of all people live up to the nth degree of their income ...[/quote:2tdtzksx][/quote:2tdtzksx] Well just because someone drives a BMW doesn't necessarily mean that he/she is rich. A lot of people live outside of their own financial means. Moreover, without personally knowing the woman with the post-grad degree and her circumstances, it's hard to judge why she applied for something below her. A friend of mine who I used to work with had a MBA, but he hid that fact from our company at first because he was applying for a "lower" position. But once he established himself, he revealed that he had a MBA was later promoted to a "high paying" business analyst role. You see, it was all a part of his strategy since he didn't have his Canadian Citizenship yet, and knew that he wouldn't have been hired at the analyst position to begin with. Sometimes you need to take a lower position, just to get your foot in the door with a company you want to work with.
Re: Alternative Divorce Franchise? Re: Alternative Divorce Franchise? -
“We provide an alternative way for couples to divorce—one that positions divorce as an empowering experience rather than an emotional event fraught with high costs, intense emotion, conflict, and fear for children.” FDS claims that if you choose this route it can reduce costs, time, stress, and protect children with financial and parenting experts.[/quote:w8jzxdy3] Hi Russell, Yup, there's definitely a lot of opportunities/money in life and death... and marriage and divorce. So how does this divorce franchise provide an empowering experience? What makes it different from settling disputes with lawyers instead?
Re: What newsletter program to use? Re: What newsletter program to use? - I know I posted a "bravo" to aweber but I also want to add kudos to iContact. There are pro's and con's to both but they will apply very specifically depending on your business. e.g. if you are purely online then any program is good to use as mentioned above. A few of my clients also do a lot of lead generation offline and through use we found out that Aweber will not allow you to add people by hand if they have not opted in. Please correct me if I am wrong. e.g. one of my clients holds presentations where at the end he collects business cards where the attendees have agreed to offer their business cards in return for a free gift and to get his emails. He was not allowed to add these people into aweber unless an email was sent out to them to Opt-In. It's very disruptive. With iContact he was able to do this seamlessly and has received about a .5% opt-out after the presentations. Also iContact allows for surveys but I'm on the fence with this feature 'cos it's not very robust in analyzing the results.
