Description: Kakai Samali is the leader of the loan group, Buyinza United, based in Nazigo. She is a social, friendly, and hard working lady. She operates a retail shop that she has owned for four years. In the shop, she sells sugar, salt, cooking oil, bread, and many other items. Kakai is requesting a loan to purchase more items to resell. She is grateful for the loans she has received from Pearl Microfinance because they have allowed her to improve her shop. Before the loans, she had very little to offer her few customers. Now she has so much to offer. This has attracted many customers and increased her profit.


About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee. Under this arrangement, each member of the group supports one another and is responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members if someone is delinquent or defaults.
