Description: This is Fatmata Sesay, age forty. Fatmata was born in Yele, Tonkolili district, northern Sierra Leone. Fatmata is married to a businessman and they have eight children together. Five of their children are in school and the remaining three are still not of school-going age. Fatmata sells dried fish. This will be her third loan from Kiva through SMT. Having repaid her last loan successfully, she is now requesting a new loan of Le 3,500,000 to enable her further strengthen her business. With this loan, Fatmata will increase her business by buying an additional three baskets of fish. She buys her fish either at Tomgbo or Yeliboya Village. In these villages, a basket of dried fish costs her nothing less than Le 1,200,000. So far, business is going well for Fatmata. From the proceeds of her business, Fatmata is able to make her monthly repayments and meet most of her financial needs. Fatmata loves her business very much as it is her only way to make a living. With the profit that this loan will generate for Fatmata, she will be able to repay her loan on time, reinvest in the business, and take good care of herself and her children.
