Description: Beatrice Adasewa is 46 years old. She is married and has given birth to five children: three males and two females. According to her, the first four children are out of school and learning trades while the last one is in junior high school. Her husband is a cocoa farmer. She lives with her husband and children in a rented apartment in a small farming community called Nkwateng in the Eastern Region of Ghana. The major occupation of the inhabitants, the men in particular, is farming. Most of the women, however, are into trading activities and palm-oil production. Beatrice is also in the palm-oil production business. She says she procures palm fruits from the local farmers and nearby farms. She distributes to customers who come to buy in bulk and on a retail basis. She wants a loan to procure palm fruits in bulk so that she can produce the oil in bulk and distribute it to the increasing number of her customers. It is her dream to help her husband improve their standard of living.
