Description: Gladys Odei is 42 years old. She is married and has three children, two sons and one daughter. According to Gladys, her first son is in the university. The rest are currently in the junior high and the primary school. Her husband works in a learning institution. She lives with her husband and children in a rented apartment in a small farming community called Nkwateng in the Eastern Region of Ghana. The major occupation of the inhabitants, the men in particular, is farming. Most of the women, however, are into trading activities and the palm oil production business. Gladys is also into the palm oil production business. She says she procures palm fruits from the local farmers and nearby farms to prepare the oil and then distributes to customers who come to buy in bulk and retail. She wants a loan to procure palm fruits in bulk so that she can produce the oil in bulk and distribute to her increasing number of customers. Gladys wants to help her husband improve their standard of living and give their children the best education they can afford.
