Description: Mukiibi is a 65-year-old married man. He has 10 children, ranging from 4 to 32. The oldest child is now a boda boda driver (a motorcycle used for public transport) and the youngest is still in the local government schools. Mukiibi also cares for his late brother's five children. Mukiibi has been in the business of buying produce and re-selling it for 40 years. He says that people prefer his stand because he is trustworthy and dependable. He says that he has been around for a long time so people know him. This loan cycle Mukiibi is requesting a loan of 2.5 million USH. With this amount Mukiiki will be able to buy a large amount of produce. He is also thinking of starting a new business, but he is not sure which one yet. Mukiibi hopes that in the future he will see all of his children finish school and be successful in their jobs!


About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee. Under this arrangement, each member of the group supports one another and is responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members if someone is delinquent or defaults.
