Best iPhone apps - More Customized Content

Everyone's iPhone is customizable - you put on what you want to use and take off what you don't. Genius that Steve Jobs. Here are my top 5 apps for January. 1. BBC News - the news as it really is. No Fox misinterpretation, no Hollywood entertainment. Just the news. Simple

2. Shazam - hear a song, but don't know what it is - hold your iPhone to the speaker and through the miracle of all those 0s and 1s it tells you - 99.9% of the time - is hasn't worked out classical music yet?

3. Starbucks - I know there is one around here somewhere. Just open the app and little green pins appear everywhere. Don't do this in Manhattan or the entire island will turn green!

4. Yowza - this is terrific! It works out where you are and provides a list of stores with special offers so you can finally forget about leaving your coupons at home and still get a deal. The big names like Sears, Crate & Barrel and The Container Store are on the list.

5. CNBC RT - still the best in the business world and a great site for keeping up to date in real time with new and views on the global markets.

What all of these have in common is quality, whether it is the content, the design or the engineering that works flawlessly. That's what it takes in the world of the App, where content is still king. Let us know if you need an app and we can do an app for you!

Re: iPhone Apps: Biz Idea! Re: iPhone Apps: Biz Idea! - San Diego, California – Got an idea for a killer iPhone app? With more than 1 billion applications sold since its launch last July, Apple’s iPhone App Store has become one of the fastest-growing tech enterprises in recent history, and gained a reputation as something of a developer’s goldmine. Success stories such as that of Ethan Nicholas, whose iShoot app has earned him $900,000 in eight months, have only added to the App Store’s appeal for would-be iPhone entrepreneurs. “The runaway success of the App Store has created the legend of the iPhone millionaire,” says Ian Maskell, principal of iPhone App Freelancer, a company aiming to make it possible to get your idea into the App Store without technical knowledge and minimal financial outlay. “Everywhere we went people would say: ‘I’ve got a great idea for an app.’ We saw an opportunity to level the playing field and allow anyone the ability to become the next success story, regardless of their ability to program or write code.” So Maskell launched iPhone App Freelancer, a website offering the ability to turn great ideas into apps with little or no programming knowledge. Rob Shoesmith, a 27-year-old garbage collector from Coventry – England, submitted one of the first ideas to iPhone App Freelancer for development. Shoesmith says he has only had an iPhone for a few months, but has been following the growth of the App Store since its launch. He wants to keep the specifics of his app under wraps until its launch, but describes it as a user-generated advice service.

Re: iPhones Re: iPhones -
iPhone batteries don't last long enough though...
I own an iPhone and I have no problem with the batteries. I am a pretty heavy Internet user and if I don't watch videos or listen too much music (which I don't), I recharge my iPhone every other day.... exactly the same frequency as my old blackberry pearl.
Re: Meta Tags Re: Meta Tags -
I'm just curious what you all think -- - How important do you think meta tags are? If the content is keyword optimized and they are being used correctly (as per Google's current instructions) how important are meta tags?? Chris[/quote:tzc1bohg] Metatags were very important 10 years ago. Now, search engines are smarter... There are 2 very important things on your page: 1/ Page title: make sure to place some keywords in your title (avoid title like "welcome to my website, great information resource". You are wasting prime keyword real estate. 2/ Content. Content. Content. Content. Content. Oh, did I mention content?? Your content as to mention your main keywords several times. 3/ <h> and <b> tags are very important too. They tell search engines you emphasize these keywords.
Re: Best looking social networking site? Re: Best looking social networking site? - Hi Kevin [quote:3h76yt08]With so many social networking sites to pick and choose from, what influences your decision to join a particilar site? Is it just your friends, the content, people using it or looks??[/quote:3h76yt08] For me, the most essential criteria in selecting a Social Networking Site is its Content followed closely by popularity- in terms of daily visitors. Then comes the Content followed by the Friends and looks. Most of do social networking to attract traffic to their website(s) and as such the Content and Popularity of the site are important. btw, the list doesn't have digg or netscape or del.is.us which are the top social media sites.
