Social Networking: A prime location for advertising
So after looking at how social networking can benefit our business by having a presence, there is also the opportunity to advertise within the sites to consider.
Sites such as Facebook and Youtube account for more than 25% of UK online display ad impressions, according to comScore Ad Metrix.
A study of UK online display advertising on social networking sites revealed that these sites accounted for 13.8bn display ad impressions in August, representing more than a fourth of all display ads viewed online.
Telecommunications companies such as Telefonica 02, Deutsche Telekom and BT were the heaviest social networking site advertisers, delivering more than 949m display ad impressions on social networking sites in August, amounting to 7% of all display ads delivered in the site category.
Retail ranked second, with banking brands in third, followed by travel and then entertainment brands. The growth of social networking sites has been phenomenal and continues to rise, making them a prime focus for brands to get their message across to a mass, varied audience.
Social Networks provide unique and innovative channels to market. They allow you to position and enhance your brand awareness and perception, build loyalty, generate online PR and drive sales.
Setting up a PPC campaign within social sites allows control over desired audience and the platform to produce eye-catching adverts that will divert people to an intriguing landing page.
