Your Sales Force is your companys engine Isnt it time for an MOT
When was the last time you looked at how your sales staff learned how to do their job? Take a moment to consider each individual in your sales department - some are brilliant, some good, some OK and some can be just down right rubbish. So as a team how would they average out? Now imagine if every individual could move up by even just one level. Would you prefer to have that team?
Business as usual?
Has your team adapted their approach in the current climate so as to keep your market share and stay ahead of competitors? Many sales people will muddle through, never truly reaching their top potential. This has can have several unfortunate side effects; no real job satisfaction, a lack of enthusiasm, low moral, leaving you ultimately with higher staff turnover.
Crucially and most importantly, your business is left with poor performance levels, less new business being generated, a lower profit margin and lower overall revenue.
Invest in your staff to boost results
Training the staff you have is an instant way to make a difference in the results they are currently achieving. Make the most of what you have, improve it and develop on it. It’s far easier and cheaper to work with your existing team than it is to constantly try and find new people. But being able to offer ongoing training can also encourage other ‘brilliant’ sales people to join you, making recruitment easier.
Don’t be the one doing the heavy lifting
Do you deal with the ‘difficult’ clients and ‘hard’ selling, because you don’t feel you can leave it to the team? Training gives people knowledge and structure, boosts confidence and the motivation to pick up the phone. You will not only succeed in raising their performance and but freeing up your time so you can focus on other areas.
