Online Games Go Beyond Miss Pacman and Donkey Kong

Things have come a long way since Miss Pacman, Donkey Kong and Space Invaders. So try not to get too skeptical when I mention the term “online gaming” or interactive games. They are not just for teenage boys anymore as more and more women and older generations are getting hooked on online games. Users are looking for entertainment and ways to have fun online. So to keep them happy and engaged on your site you can add out of the box online games.

We recently increased time spent on our client’s website by a factor of five to one simply by putting an interactive game on the website. We customized the game which allowed users to learn about new destinations using clues and helpful hints.

At Travel Spike, we focus on viral marketing tactics which help our clients reach more customers with creative engagement and promotional programs. So we baked that thinking into the game that we built so that it would increase exposure and web traffic. It is very important to have a digital strategy for any type of online marketing program, especially the cutting edge interactive gaming sector. You cannot just throw up something and hope it works. You really need to understand your customers and integrate that game into the brand as well as your site.

You then need to promote the game and stick with it. Try new things and test to see what works best for your brand. If you don’t innovate then your competitors will. But if you have a solid game plan, you can make your website much more interactive and sticky as users spend a lot more time on your site. They also become much more knowledgeable about your brand which of course makes them much more likely to tell their friends. It also makes them more likely to buy something from your website down the road. So it is a soft sell approach and you don’t need to hit people over the head again and again within the game. If they have fun, your users will remember your brand and return to your site to make that purchase.

Sensitivities Sensitivities - [quote:7buj6fo3] Now I will admit that I know some women who dislike being called ma'am - but that's because it makes them feel old... [/quote:7buj6fo3] Times do change.... I can remember when a married woman would be mortally offended if she were called Miss, she'd hurriedly say she was married - and many women would sign themselves as Mrs. Henry Thingummy, or whatever the name of their husband happened to be. Of course that was back in the day when women were nothing if they weren't married...
Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? - [quote:31qpen1j]This is just my opinion, but I consider the prospective categories, Online Marketing, Internet Marketing and Online Promotion, as being pretty much one and the same - just different words that different people use.[/quote:31qpen1j] I completely agree! Those are all just "internet marketing" as far as I am concerned. And I normally would have voted for internet marketing, however I chose social media marketing simply because there are more than enough IM forums out there already.
Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? - Hi Everyone, 2009 is a new year and I'd like to create a new forum category to jazz things up! In the past, there's been some interest voiced about adding a "Social Media Marketing", "Online Marketing", "Internet Marketing" or "Online Promotion" category. I'll implement [u:1g2tv6tf]ONE[/u:1g2tv6tf] of those new categories, but can someone first tell me what the difference would be between the existing "Marketing" section and one of those new options mentioned above? Thanks
