Are You Stuck in a Revolving Door?
Being stuck in a revolving door is a terrible place to be. Passing
by the world and those around us, we want stop the cycle but have no
understanding how. We may cry out for
help but the answer is still within us. These same principles affect our lives
and must be overcome in us if they are to be conquered.
How often do you feel you are stuck in a revolving
door? Maybe I should explain what a
revolving door is because there aren’t many in use these days. A revolving door
is one that is supported in the center and turns around to allow both entering
and exiting the building through the same door way. It usually has multiple compartments
and each person enters one and pushes the door to travel. If you don’t leave
the door area at the opening you desire you will continue to turn with the door
to the opposite opening (entrance or exit). In order to reach your desired
opening again you must remain in the door until you reach it. As long as you
fail to leave the door you will continue to go around inside it.
So now, knowing what a revolving door is, how often do you
feel you are stuck in one? This is an easy position to get into; we get caught
in habits that aren’t of value and don’t accomplish anything for us. The
repetition is an endless circle we can’t seem to get out of and when we see the
way out it is the opposite opening than we wanted. We get dizzy from constantly
turning, loosing our orientation and increasing our confusion. We feel helpless
and hopelessly contained in the situation, trying to break free with no means
of release.
One of the best solutions to escape this is go to the right.
Most revolving doors turn counterclockwise, so you will enter toward the right
side and the first opening on your right will be the one you want. Likewise in
our being caught in our habits, to be freed from them we make the “right”
decisions about them. When we realize our actions are unproductive we must
decide to stop them and do things differently. Changing each habit, as we
become aware of its lack of worth will eventually free us from them leaving
only the actions we desire. Write yourself a note as a reminder of the change; it
will help solidify the action. It also promotes the accomplishment of the
important items and increases our feelings of determination, dedication and
success.
The sense of being stuck can be overwhelming but there is
always hope of escape. Beginning with a plan for your activities and tasks will
help you control the time and how you spend it. Never let the small
emergencies, which occur to distract you, disrupting your planning. Deal with
them as you must but asses their importance before you let them stop you. Many
emergencies are merely excuses our minds make to support our fears of
achievement.

Greetings From Destiny's Door
- Hi Everyone,
Thanks for the invitation to introduce myself. I'm looking forward to being part of the discussions here.
I called my business "Destiny’s Door Coaching" because I believe you already have everything it takes to create the business of your dreams. The door to your destiny stands always open. The choice is up to you.
I work with Business Women and Entrepreneurs who want to create a life and business that matches their true potential, while still allowing them time to do the things they love most. I support them as they discover how to work smarter and not harder.
I coach because I am passionate about seeing women achieve amazing things when they fully accept their own greatness. Business really gives women a great opportunity to express their passions and purpose in a way that also brings financial rewards.
I believe you are highly important as the foundation of your business. As you grow and unleash your true potential, you enable your business to do the same.
In fact, I'm doing that personally through my own business. I coach women and write articles inviting women to step into greater personal success. As a Certified Life Coach with a Degree in ministry, this is a perfect fit for me.
On a personal level, I believe in living fully alive and making the most of every moment. I even have my own Coach! Of course, life is always a work in progress, but I keep moving forward. I do this happily in the beautiful Rocky Mountains of B.C. with my husband and two feline companions.
Anyhow, I look forward to meeting you through the forum where we can challenge and inspire each other to really grow towards our full potential.
Let’s really commit to creating the businesses of our dreams. I’ll meet you at Destiny’s Door!
Warmly,
Tami

Topics of Interest
- There have been some wonderful resources posted in this section. However, I also strongly advise any entreperneur to pick up a few books on personal financial planning; cash flow is key to any business and the best way to start planning good cash flow for your business is to learn some personal financial planning.
I have always enjoyed the following:
The Millionaire Next Door- Thomas Stanley and William D. Danko
Richest Man in Babylon- George S. Clason
Rich Dad, Poor Dad- Robert T. Kiyoski and Sharon L. Lichter
There are many many more great resources on this topic. These should be read in conjunction with the other resources posted here. Good luck.
Books for Women Entrepreneurs
- There's a thread for good books in the Resources folder, but it doesn't target books for businesswomen particularly, so I figured I'd start such a thread here.
It doesn't matter how successful you are in your business - it's always possible to learn something new.
In subsequent posts I give Table of Contents and brief descriptions for various titles - most of them devoted to the businesswoman - and sometimes a review. If anyone else has read a review, or has read the book and found it useful, please comment!
