Integrity is the Key for Followers
Of the many traits humanity has, integrity is
probably the must sought after in others. We desire truth and honesty but also
that it be rooted inside each individual and not just only as a front. This is
so vital in leadership that it has caused the failure of many an endeavor.
There are many characteristics that are desirable in
leaders; one of the most preferable is integrity. Integrity isn’t just a
characteristic but something inside them that makes the whole person unified.
It makes them the individuals others will trust and know they can believe their
behavior because they have no hidden agenda. These leaders do so by example and
instill the traits they have in others. Eighty-nine percent of what people
learn comes from visual stimulation, ten percent by verbal and one percent by
the other senses, proving seeing is believing and examples teach lessons. This
reinforces the need to lead with desired actions to achieve the best
results. People will be willing to
follow with full assurance they won’t be left with the blame and responsibility
should something go amiss because the good leader is with them.
The world is searching for anyone with the strength
and courage to be what they say they will. Those with out integrity put on an
outward appearance to please others but are completely different inside. They
know what others want and expect and that is what they present. The population is so full of these
“hypocrites” that no one is willing to trust others. We live doubting
everyone’s intentions and looking for a trap they are about to spring on us.
Every step is made with caution and those with true integrity are often falsely
suspected and accused without cause. No longer is a man’s word his bond;
everything must be in writing with numerous witnesses signing the document and
registering it with an official agency. How sad is the condition we have
allowed society and ourselves to get into.
What type of followers will you have if they are
just like you, their leader? For the most part the leader breeds the type of
followers they have and yes there are exceptions in both directions. We know,
because of his lack of integrity, Judas sold himself for thirty pieces of
silver and not Jesus. Normally the means we use to guide others is the way we
will be followed. The principles held either as important or as irrelevant will
be manifest in others. Each leader must first live it before they can lead and
herein lies the problem. Are we the type of person we want to follow or be followed
by?
Now is the time to be the person mankind is looking
for. Strive for the integrity great people have always had and be an example
for all. Be what we desire in others and give them someone worthy to be
followed. Don’t lead because you are in front of the line, do it because you
know how to get where you are going.

Re: The Celebrity Apprentice Finale
- Well, the results are in and Piers is The Celebrity Apprentice.
I know Piers raised more money than Trace and I know this was a race for raising money for charity, but I'm still disappointed with the ethics that Piers used in order to win. I like how Trump's son asked Piers something along the line if Piers would have won if Trace would have had as impressive of a roladex. I also like how Trump's daughter asked if he would have raised as much money if he had actually been nice.
Personally, I would enjoy working with Trace and be able to trust him on my team. I'm not sure I would trust Piers and this means I would not prefer to partner with him. Integrity is incredibly important to me. I think a values based model in business is where we need to head as a society. If this doesn't happen, the results will be less than savory. I'm not sure I like the message this show has portrayed.

I agree with you completely and especially about integrity and bring trustworthy. I would definitely rather work with or for Trace. Piers was a jerk and a pompous pain during the entire show. His win at all costs and crush anyone is a rotten business attitude to show. It gets ratings, but the show is supposed to be about business. Again, this mentality is why I hate reality shows. Encouraging people to worse and rewarding obnoxious and questionable behavior is a sad way to fill many hours of television programming. Imagine all the reality shows we could eliminate if a real value based system was in place. Ivanka made a good point, he didn't have to be that big a jerk to win - but he did appear to relish that behavior.
