Think Small

Thinking small is much easier to do and fears of achieving don’t arise. To think big causes stress and is hard to deal with, we must always be moving toward a goal and overcoming ourselves. My mind says it’s easier to stay where I am because it won’t be worth it if I do advance. I should listen to myself; I know what’s best for me.

There’s no need to be a big thinker just look at things the way they are, they will be OK. If you try too hard then you’ll probably fail and you can’t handle that, so don’t try it’s safer. Others are laughing at you because you can’t do any better and they have more experience and knowledge than you. Be satisfied with what you have, your living a good life right now. Everyone likes you the way you are, if make yourself better you won’t fit in and who would be your friends then. This is what we tell ourselves when we realize we aren’t satisfied with our position in life and we need to change.

As we come to the knowledge we can’t do what we are doing any more our fears swell up and the reasons to stay where we are come to the foreground. We make excuses for safeties sake and fight our urges to be better but something continues to gnaw at us. Dissatisfaction is a constant companion and there is no way to get relief. Our fears bring up more points of resistance. Everyone says to improve and advance you must see the broad picture but that only distracts you. You can’t break through the glass ceiling and the boss has his foot on your head, holding you down. There’s no need to try, everyone is against me and I can’t get out of this position. Never let others control your resolve to achieve; you must take control of your own life.

Most people feel this way deep inside when the obstacles of change begin to come upon them. We all desire to be more but we don’t usually know how to accomplish it. More times that not the fear and feelings we have over powers our desire and we continue as we are. The truth is we must see the big picture, reach for that star, break the bonds, and be all we can be. Ignore the excuses to give up and quit, there is no future in allowing them to exist. Desire and determination is the only means to achieve the change we want and most of all deserve. There is no happiness in being imprisoned in our selves; life is to short to suffer it in misery. If you can’t change all the things you wish, at least make small adjustments in those you can. Gradually you will be able to move into a place of greater satisfaction.

The nay Sayers, especially the on in your head, will always tell you to ignore wanting to change. Changing is the only way to leave the circumstances you are in. Follow that drive within you to be greater and be determined to accomplish your dreams. Your dreams are the door to the future and your future should be worth looking forward to.
