What Else?

What else, this is the attitude that is often implied when people are afraid of the coming circumstances. Even if we don’t voice it, we probably ask ourselves when others give information they think we need or want. It’s important to be aware of the offer but not to the point of discounting the person.

This is often the response of someone who has received information but feel something was left out. When what has been said sounds too good to be true or to simple a way to accomplish a task, this thought comes to mind. Disbeliefs that nothing further is involved set in and we feel a trap is being set for us. Even after the statement is elaborated on, we still are cautious and fearful of the situation, expecting the worse.

This is a sad situation, our society has been so infiltrated with those who wish to scandal and steal form others; we have become afraid to trust our closest associations. We think everyone wants to abuse or misuse our relationship for his or her betterment. Our trust and faith in others has been damaged to the point no one is beyond suspicion. It goes as far as even causing us to distrust our spouses and children as well.

There’s nothing wrong with being skeptical and asking what else, but don’t be to the place you find a hidden agenda when there isn’t one. We should attempt to always give people the benefit of the doubt at first and let them show they can be trusted. It’s better to be taken advantage of once than to misjudge everyone. You may find they didn’t realize how their actions were being viewed and you can help them learn, grow and overcome a problem.

Being skeptical is a defense tool to alert us to coming danger and should be given its place in our lives. Just don’t let it control your interactions and thoughts about others. Everyone doesn’t want to cheat you and you must give people an opportunity to get near you. True friends are few and the person you shut out of your life may have been your most valuable friend.
