What is your belief based on?

How many times have you given up on a goal because you believed it was impossible? How many times after overcoming that belief has your goal been achieved? What made the difference in the two situations?

For many of us our belief is based on what we see. It is easy to believe things we can contact with our senses. If I can have a physical connection with something there is no question that it is real. Usually the difficult thing is to believe something exists or is possible if we can’t contact it. Our belief in the unseen is a property of faith and is a matter of the mind and heart. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. That substance is the part we hold to knowing it will occur or be achieved. We hold to these because things like them have happened before and will again.

Is our faith any different than those of the past? The account of “doubting Thomas” in the Bible comes to mind. Even though all the other disciples had seen Jesus after His resurrection Thomas would not believe. He required physical contact but when he saw Jesus he did believe. That’s when Jesus said that blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. This instance is no different than that of any inventor, visionary, or entrepreneur that has ever lived. Each one had the faith to believe something was possible and achievable though it had never been done before. With faith and no physical proof to base their actions on they continued to accomplish their goal

In order to reach the position we desire we must also change how we believe. We all must exercise the faith required to continue striving for our goal. Everyone has had impossible things happen in their lives without any explanation as to how or why. If those things can happen once why do we think they won’t happen again?

They only thing keeping us from believing in the unseen future is our failure to remember our past and trusting the truth we already know. Our faith will be strengthened if we will place the emphasis on the “impossible” things we have seen in our lives instead of doubting things will happen.

What keeps you from just doing it? What keeps you from just doing it? - I think many people have limiting beliefs that keep them from following through on their ideas. Fear is certainly a factor, but even more limiting is the belief that it's too good to be true. Many people don't believe it is as simple as they dream it could be. And yet, some people have done exactly that and made millions. Our world has taught us that you have to work really hard to get money and that it's only for a few. What belief do YOU have about money? Is it keeping you from taking that leap on following through with a great business idea? I used to check in with money possibilities before I made a decision. Now I decide what I want to do and then figure out how to use money as a partner to get what I want. It's so freeing to not make decisions based around money fears... even if the funds aren't even there to follow through with it yet. I feel like I've finally stumbled on a secret. I'm not a millionaire yet, but I can tell you things are certainly going in a positive direction! What's your experience? What keeps you from just following through on your entrepreneurial idea?
Compensating your Advisory Board Compensating your Advisory Board - Hey! Happy Monday. With regard to stock options, I am of the belief that 1-2% is appropriate historically. Personally, I would be open to considering any amount based on the level of expertise and time they are willing to give me. Although I did have one gentleman ask for 20%. I told him no. I have 7 members on my advisory board currently and I am starting to build one for my women's leadership business. I have thought about adding it to the existing 'agenda' but I need different skills and resources. Compensation varies and is kept very confidential at our board. Everyone knows they have 'skin' in the game per say, and I am very careful not to abuse that trust. For one thing, sometimes I find myself thinking that a more formally 'paid' member should be doing more legwork....that kind of stuff. Its a bit challenging but so far the dynamics work.

Re: Readers, Money or SEO? Which comes first? Re: Readers, Money or SEO? Which comes first? - [quote="WebBizIdeas.com":22x4rmv2]Once a site like Mashable is ranked a certain way, that value sticks with them. That is why no matter what Mashable, techcrunch, Amazon, etc... put out they rank well for. Obviously they all have incredible links but Google has given them link value based on who they are.[/quote:22x4rmv2] Their high ranking is still more down to their huge link equity, rather than manual tweaks to results by the Google team (thats my belief anyway). I'm certain Google does make tweaks to the rankings of larger sites, but generally it is driven by the algorithm. SEO is less of a factor with techcrunch, Mashable, Amazon etc. They have the basic SEO in there, and the rest is down to awesome content and great promotion/networking strategies to get exposure, which drives a huge number of natural links. So SEO is moving more and more to great content and great PR (not the pagerank kind).
