How many times have we started
something but didn’t know the best way to accomplish it? The problem was we had
no plan in mind to guide us through the process and keep us on track. There was no orderly manner to accomplish
the end result with knowledge and a readiness to revise it should circumstances
require it.
Many times we begin doing things
without consciously considering the final product. This action undermines the
process of our accomplishment and will usually cause an added expense
completing the task. This expense may
be either monetary or of lost and wasted time but it still occurs. We must
always begin with a plan to achieve our desired result. It is often said
failing to plan is planning to fail and it is very true in everything we do.
Everything is created twice, first
in the planning stage and secondly in the creative stage. We don’t always spend
the time and effort to physically write or draw up a plan but even the
consideration of what is needed is a plan. The problem with not drawing or
writing a plan is our minds don’t keep the details needed to act on changes
that occur during the creative operation. This being said we realize the way to
remember what we need to do in each step of the process is to put pen to paper
as the plan unfolds.
Nothing happens by chance, the
effort placed in the planning stage is reflected in the final outcome. No
matter how well we think we know the procedure or the operation to be achieved
there should always be a plan of attack. The greatest craftsman of any trade is
still only as good as the plan he follows. He may be able to adjust the
appearance or structure of the finished product but the plan also had to be
adjusted. As he did the work and found
the outcome would not be suitable, corrections were made to achieve the desired
results.
No matter what you are going to do
it is always vital to the outcome to have a plan to accomplish it. The problems
you will incur as the task is being completed will become more evident and
avoidable as you plan and view the procedure in advance of beginning it. It is
of utmost importance to always begin with the end in mind.
