10 Ways to Get the Most Out of Your Retargeting Campaign

Retargeting is fast becoming a popular online marketing strategy, but how can you use it to your advantage? Here are 10 tips to help you get the most out of your retargeting campaign.

1.) Network Optimization:
A great way to broaden your reach is to advertise across multiple content networks. Each campaign may perform differently on different networks, so it's a good idea to see which one works best for you.

2.) Set a Frequency Cap: Avoid bombarding your visitors. A frequency cap puts a limit on the number of times your ads are displayed.

3.) Offer Discounts: Create a sense of urgency in your banner ads. For instance, you could offer "free shipping" if they order today.

4.) Add Retargeted Landing Pages: New landing pages help personalize the experience. Now that you've got them to click back to your site, why not have a message that says, "Welcome back".

5.) Product Specific Ads: Segmented ads can be very effective when trying to maintain the interest of a potential prospect. Let's say you run a site that sells electronics, and there have been visitors searching for HDTVs. This is the perfect time to offer discounts on HDTVs for those visitors specifically.

6.) High Quality Flash Ads: Many have mixed emotions when it comes to flash ads, but they actually perform better than static ads. That being said, it can be very helpful to create some quality Flash ads to showcase.

7.) Cookie Length: Do your products have a shorter buying cycle? Set your cookies to 15 days. Longer buying cycle? Set your cookies to 90 days.

8.) Pixel Placement: Naturally, some prospects are more promising than others. A visitor who added to their shopping cart may be more likely to complete a purchase than someone who didn't. In this case, you could add a signup funnel and place a pixel within that funnel.

9.) Set Location Filters: Are there countries you don't deliver to? Start by filtering them out. Get geo-specific!

10.) Set Conversion Filters: Add a conversion URL that doesn't retarget converted visitors. You don't necessarily need advertise to visitors that have become customers, but that's up to you.

Where to print a book Where to print a book - [quote:39vg8s93]So, writing a chapter a day, I finished in a month, and Kidpreneur: Genius Ways for Kids to Pay For College was born. Currently my book is self published -- I just printed up 100 copies to give to all the people featured in the book, teachers, and some more to sell at $20.00 a piece (it costs $10.00 a copy at Kinko's, so it's not really an outrageous price). [/quote:39vg8s93] If at all possible, you need to stop using Kinko's now and go price some real printers. It should cost only a couple of dollars a piece, if that, to print your book. Admittedly you'll have to buy in bulk, but the overall savings - selling a $2 book for $20 so that you make an $18 profit instead of a measley $10.... is something every kidpreneur should think about!
Revenue Streams for Websites Revenue Streams for Websites - Too funny, I was just reading a book: Multiple Streams of Internet Income: How Ordinary People make extraordinary money on line, by Robert G. Allen. 2001 That's a misnomer, though - they're not ordinary people, they're people with established careers who can take their expertise and exploit it on the web. Ways to generate income? 1) Sell your own material on the site. Ebooks, etc. 2) Join various affiliate programs that match what your website is about. 3) Google adsense - All my money comes from this... it's started out slow but as readership of my sites grown, the income has grown. Nothing to write home about yet... 4) Google adwords - the advertisers whose ads show up on Google Adsense. Unless you're selling big ticket items on your site you don't want to use it, your keywords can cost from 20 cents upwards.
