I haven't coded or blogged as much as I'd like to over the past few weeks because I've been working on ou strategy for 2008. I never really new hwo difficult or demanding it would be until when I decided to sit down and really assess when, how, why, and what I'm going to do for the next 12 months. The key resounding themes in everything I'm doing are:
1. Innovation 2. African Content 3. Profit Achieving those three key themes in everything I intend to do is almost like fitting a square peg into a round hole, this becomes more evident when I begin looking at innovative applications that are content based. The content based application do not directly have any monetary gain, in fact in most cases they are money sucking projects that have long term benefits, but such is the price one has to pay to change the world.
Strategy planning especially for a techie like me is in itself a challenge. I'm a tangible kind of person, I like to see something workable rather than plan on how its going to be paid for, and may be that's been my problem. I do less planning and more execution, this can only take you so far in fact it only lasts for a short while till you realise that had you factored in so many other things you would have run the marathon.
