Taé Flagship Store, Lagos by Bisola Edun

Unlike the rest of the developed world and South Africa who all have extensive retail clothing chains for consumers, Nigerian consmers have had very limited options: shop at the local markets 'bend down select' style or fly abroad to shop. The rapid growth of Nigeria's creative industries within the past five years has seen designers and entrepreneurs changing the way Nigerian consumers shop by introducing retail (boutique) stores to them. Designers like Deola Sagoe, Folake Folarin-Coker (Tiffany Amber), Fati Asibuela (MOMO), Nike Ogunlesi (Ruff n Tumble), Lanre Da Silva Ajayi and fashion entrepreneur Leila Fowler all have boutiques that offer a more refined options to fashion consumers.

Retailing is a vital industry in most Western fashion industries and for Nigeria's fashion industry, its ability to provide the right merchandise at the right price, in the right place, at the right time and in the right quantities will definitely be a critical part of creating a true and thriving fashion industry.

Bisola Edun's Taé flagship boutique is located at 15B Oduduwa Way, Ikeja GRA, Lagos.

Re: iPhone Apps: Biz Idea! Re: iPhone Apps: Biz Idea! - San Diego, California – Got an idea for a killer iPhone app? With more than 1 billion applications sold since its launch last July, Apple’s iPhone App Store has become one of the fastest-growing tech enterprises in recent history, and gained a reputation as something of a developer’s goldmine. Success stories such as that of Ethan Nicholas, whose iShoot app has earned him $900,000 in eight months, have only added to the App Store’s appeal for would-be iPhone entrepreneurs. “The runaway success of the App Store has created the legend of the iPhone millionaire,” says Ian Maskell, principal of iPhone App Freelancer, a company aiming to make it possible to get your idea into the App Store without technical knowledge and minimal financial outlay. “Everywhere we went people would say: ‘I’ve got a great idea for an app.’ We saw an opportunity to level the playing field and allow anyone the ability to become the next success story, regardless of their ability to program or write code.” So Maskell launched iPhone App Freelancer, a website offering the ability to turn great ideas into apps with little or no programming knowledge. Rob Shoesmith, a 27-year-old garbage collector from Coventry – England, submitted one of the first ideas to iPhone App Freelancer for development. Shoesmith says he has only had an iPhone for a few months, but has been following the growth of the App Store since its launch. He wants to keep the specifics of his app under wraps until its launch, but describes it as a user-generated advice service.
Re: Exotic Tea Shop Website for Review Re: Exotic Tea Shop Website for Review - Hi David, - Background is nice and fitting, but I don't like the header. The title completely blends in with the background? - About Us shouldn't be second from the left on the navigation bar. People read from left to right. The commercial intent is to buy, the online store should probably be second. - Online Tea Store... too many choices without supplementary information. No description of product choice. oz and pricing should be stylized separately from the name of the product. - Online Tea Store.... Visuals is definitely very important in raising commercial intent. Someone who comes to the site through SEO is searching for exotic teas and not particulars. Meaning they're browsing. Text is not enough for a browsing shopper. - World of Tea... the information can be organized a bit better. Again, visuals. Some of this info belongs to online tea store. I'm not too sure on the name. - Tea & Treasure... not sure on this name either... mainly because you have "World of Tea" next to it. Navigation should be transparent in conveying information to the users. Why not call it "Find Us" or "Visit Us"? - Email newseletter.... "occasional updates" containing what exactly? Again, my humble opinion. Hope you find it useful!
Seeking advice on working procedure of Convenience Store Fra Seeking advice on working procedure of Convenience Store Fra - I have some queries about the working of the franchises. How does the relationship between the Store Owner, Suppliers and Corporate works exactly? How does the store owners get reimbursed when they sell commodities like coke in fewer prices than others?
franchising franchising - Look into PR Store. They have stores that do PR work locally but send all of the technical marketing and PR work to the national office and its done there. So you could do something similar by branding a name that appeals nationally. Make the entry fee low to get more people involved and take a higher percentage for each job they bring you or your team. So you could appeal to programmers who are just beginning who have expertise in one type of language and need your expertise in another. Just a thought.
Top Franchises For 2007 Top Franchises For 2007 - Entrepreneur came out with a list of the top franchises for 2007. They are: 1. Subway 2. Dunkin' Donuts 3. Jackson Hewitt Tax Service 4. 7-Eleven Inc. 5. UPS Store, The/Mail Boxes Etc. 6. Domino's Pizza LLC 7. Jiffy Lube Int'l. Inc. 8. Sonic Drive In Restaurants 9. McDonald's 10. Papa John's Int'l. Inc. It still seems to be dominated by food companies (70% of the list!) Can non-food companies make it as a successful franchise?
