Hoda, a widow, is raising her grandson whose parents both passed away. At first she could not afford to send him to school because she was dependent on the income he brought in. After taking a microloan from Grameen Foundation partner Al Tadamun, she is now able to send him to school. Hoda is diversifying her products by reselling women’s apparel as well as by selling food she makes in her own home. She is particularly known for her delicious mashrub (chickpea soup).
