Jabu Bags is a socially responsible business that focuses on skill sharing and development at the grassroots level. It involves a group of 12 rural women from the Kalanga Chiefdom in eastern Swaziland who make the purses and work as a team in a sewing hut sharing five hand crank sewing machines. Teaming entrepreneurship with social awareness, it was created by Megan Yarema, a master’s student in Human Security and Peacebuilding who believes that small efforts can have big effects. Jabu Bags is located in Swaziland. For more information on purchasing a bag or the project itself contact Megan at meganyarema@yahoo.ca, or +268 657 4955.
