AFL + Soccer Athletes - In Australia one of the most popular sports is Aussie Rules Football, but the principle I'm about to talk about is the same in all sports. The reason athletes get paid so much is because of competition between clubs. For example Club A will offer $1000 a week for an athlete to play for them but then Club B will offer $2000 until one club reaches a figure that they consider to be "reasonable" and obviously higher than the other club is prepared to pay. In saying this if a soccer athlete is worth the $4,000,000 transfer fee and $7,500 a game the management of the team obviously believe they are going to gain more revenue for the club in terms of more wins, supporters, media spotlights and higher morale in the team.
Re: I really feel great today because . . . . . - I really feel great today because... I wrote a press release to market my stock market coaching business for women. Well, within hours, I received a phone call from a representative at Lifetime Television. They invited me to be on The Balancing Act, a morning tv show, which airs nationally to 2 million people in my target market...women!! As most people know, Lifetime is known as the Womens Network. I am sooo excited! I will be taping the interview in November, and it will air in January 2011. Press releases are a great method for marketing your business, especially when you can highlight what makes your business unique. Aneshia
Profiles of Women Entrepreneurs - Bravado Designs - Bravado Designs is a great company to profile for women entrepreneurs. Kathryn From and Shery Leeder are once again on this year's Profit 100 list of Women Entrepreneurs and this year have moved up to #68. They also won the prestigious Rotman's Canadian Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Export Award in 2002. The company, which designs, manufactures and sells nursing bras and nursing apparel, has been steadily growing since it was started at a kitchen table in 1992, and now has worldwide sales. Could it possible be another Robeez???? Kathryn From speaks regularly on entrepreneurship and would be great to profile. Maureen
