The New Rules for Mortgages by Dale Robyn Siegel

When I think of some of the biggest decisions we can make in our lives - I think of things like getting married, having children, starting a business, and buying a home - to name a few. These are major things we do in our lives and these things affect our lives for many years to come -- so they are the kind of things that we should think about very carefully and thoroughly before we do them.

So why is it that so many people have no idea about the mortgage on their home? I could ask many questions about the other major decisions, but that would be different books. How many people do you know that have a 30 years (or longer) mortgage on their home, but they don't understand the terms or anything else about the loan? I admit that I'm incredibly careful about spending money and especially when it comes to a purchase of that magnitude -- so I can tell you that I discussed the details with my loan officer - I asked so many questions, that I didn't know if we would still be friends. But I understood what I was signing and I felt very good about the loan. Can you say the same about your mortgage?

If you have a mortgage and you don't understand it, if you are looking for a mortgage or if you just want to understand the current mortgage market - The New Rules for Mortgages is for you. Dale Robyn Siegel is an insider - she is in the mortgage business and she has been for years. She understand what is needed to secure a loan, she knows the things you need to know long before you walk in to fill out that application and she know the dos and don'ts of getting the best mortgage for YOU. And, she knows what will keep you from getting the home of your dreams. These are all reasons why you need to read The New Rules for Mortgages.

I am not a financial guru and I admit that many of the terms my mortgage officer used were foreign to me - but Siegel walks you through the entire process. These are some of the chapters in this book -- how many of these topics are things that you don't understand?

The All-Important Credit Score.

Income Yeah, You Need That!

What Mortgage Is Best for You?

Where to Get the Best Mortgage.

The Loan Process.

You Are a Homeowner.

Re: Craiglist Advertising - Google Analytics Results Re: Craiglist Advertising - Google Analytics Results - Craigslist has strict rules on posting adverts and they should all be for local ads. The fact you are posting in one city and then another means you *may* be breaking these rules. If you ramped this up and craigslist got annoyed they may report you to your affiliate and advertising networks which will then ban you. If you are not obeying craigslist rules and advertising your website, you are essentially spamming them. Spamming is not a long term business model and can get you in trouble.
Re: Tie the equity up! Re: Tie the equity up! - [quote="OmnivoreInk":22bpox36] This question seems to resonate even more, two months down the line, with the vast spate of foreclosures going on right now. It's interesting (and frightening) how the whole world interconnects right now. The sub-prime borrowers who are in trouble right now are only 6% of all peple with mortgages...yet lenders are toppling because of them. You'd think financiers who've been in the banking business for decades would have seen what could happen with adjustable rate mortgages, dodgy loans, etc., but it doesn't seem as if people ever learn...[/quote:22bpox36] You make a good point, when you look at the things that were going on within the industry - it seems that someone should've had a clue of what was coming. One problem is that there was so much potential money to be made --- if it had worked and people could've continued to make the payments. Who knew that $4 a gallon gas was coming and that the value of the dollar would drop so low? Its a bad combination of problems all at once and like you said, it shows how interconnected things are -- around the world. Donna

If you own other property, like investment/ rental property or even vacant land, it's better to use that property rather than a primary residence for collateral. [/quote:1q68f9qn] Sad that the government has to say not to risk your home, but I hope that helps people avoid a costly mistake and especially people with a family who needs a roof over their head. Rules for Web writing Rules for Web writing - [quote:kmx8v5pv]e problem with finding a book about writing for the web is that the rules change on a regular basis and much of the info could be out of date.[/quote:kmx8v5pv] Well, I don't know if the rules change so much, as the knowledge of how people use the internet increases. For example, from what I've read you're always supposed to put all the info on the "top fold" so that people don't have to scroll down for a lot of info. And where should the nav bar go, across the top or along the side... I also think it depends on the age level of the audience you're shooting for. I don't think most people under 20 are capable of concentrating on a page that has more than one screen of info, whereas older people are used to reading and processing data, and don't have such problems..
