Online Branding
You may think that creating a website that features your company’s logo is as far as you have to go with online branding. Well, if you want to go no further, you could stop there. But, if you want to truly create a website that actually adds to your business’ brand then read on. This article provides some tips on how to help build up your brand through your home on the Net.
First of all, make sure that your website is up to date. Nobody wants to read about promotions that are ten months old or try to click on links that don’t even work anymore. Use your online space for all that it is worth. Upload current press releases, media features, or company news on the site. I know that’s the first place I go to see what a company is up to. If a site has no media section, then I get the feeling it isn’t on top of things, and definitely isn’t on top of the game. Update your site once a week in order to keep your brand relevant.
Next, you want to think about the online communications that you are sending out. You wouldn’t send out a hand-written letter with no letterhead to a customer would you? So, make sure that all of your email correspondence has your company’s official logo on it, and include a professional signature at the bottom. Not only does it make your messages seem more professional, but it also provides a clear place for people to see your website URL and your contact information. You want to make it as easy as possible for people to reach you.
Email can also be used in another way to add dimension your strategy of online branding. Email brochures and advertising is a great way to let people know about new promotions or new product launches. As long as you keep them professional looking, their cheap and interactive nature often make then much more effective than snail mail promotions. Email newsletters are also a great way to attract and retain a database of customers.
You want your website to become a one-stop destination for all things relating to your product or service. Don’t just feature images and facts about your products. Include articles about related issues. Encourage previous customers to share their own stories. Set up photo galleries or message boards for people to share their experiences. Online forums are also another great way to encourage participation.
Online branding is all about taking advantage of the gold mine that is the Internet. And, the great thing about it is that you don’t need to spend thousands of dollars to do it. By creating a consistent, useful, and professional website, you can not only build up your online image, but add to your offline one as well. And, in the end, whether it’s online or offline, it doesn’t really matter. Your brand is your brand, and you want it to be top-notch anywhere you go.
