Doing The Niceties

As far as ‘being nice to people' goes, I know of people who are going to mention things about criminals, rapists and also mean-spirited people. Yeah, I know they exists and yes, I am disgusted with what they do too but I strongly...and I mean STRONGLY believe that it all happens for a reason and that karma bites hard. So instead of hating on them, I try to detach and let nature take its course and start being thankful that it wasn't me or my loved ones that they met up with. That I am lucky enough to be here, not raped, not robbed, not murdered, not cheated. I am currently still here. =))))))

Recently, I did something for the Myanmar refugees' kids over here in Malaysia with some friends. We pooled together some groceries and stuff and sent it over to their place. I know some really kind and compassionate people who are short on time, don't have the resources but are willing to reach out to other people who are less fortunate so, I volunteered to help them get their good deed through.

The act of kindness sometimes goes through the wrong way. Some people said stuff like, ‘Aren't there enough refugees here already?' and also ‘They're taking up all our jobs, why are we helping them, anyway? We should be helping our own people'. To me, there is no such thing as our people, your people, their people. There is just ‘PEOPLE'. And these people are ASKING for help.

So, if we can, we do it. If we can't, then so be it.

Bottom line is that I enjoyed the whole process. I loved seeing them smile. I love it when they say ‘thank you'. Some people thrive on drugs for that kinda high. Some people go shopping. Some people go for movies. Some people smoke, some people drink, some people eat, some people puke, some people whine to friends....well, this is my kind of high and it lasts a long, long time! It's A.MA.ZING!

Believe it or not, acts of kindness really make you feel less alone in this world. It makes you feel connected in a very big way.

So go out there and do something nice to someone you know or DON'T know...for absolutely no freaking reason. It's crazy stuff! LOL!

You're AWESOME! Have a splendid Saturday. It is rainy over here and I've just done AWESOME lunch and let's do this weekend shit...

PEACE,

XOXO,

Marsha
