The Growing Importance of Personal PR within Business

Promoting yourself as an expert in your field will also have a positive impact on the company you work for, so it’s beneficial all round to adopt a proactive personal PR strategy. The advantages of doing this are many and include things such as; • Portraying a more professional image than your competitors • Providing your business with a public face • Being seen to be at the forefront of your industry Personal PR within business can also be invaluable when promotions and new positions arise within the company you work for. If you’ve been representing your company professionally and achieving more media exposure, then of course this will be looked upon very favourably when you apply for a new position either at your existing company or a different one. Consumer interaction The way your company interacts with its customers is another important facet of personal PR. With so many online forums and review sites, it’s easier than ever for people to make complaints or write derogatory remarks about your business on the web. Assigning a specific person within your organisation to address these issues and respond to any problems swiftly and in a satisfactory manner can be great PR for your business. By developing a personal PR strategy for that person in your company, you can provide a much more personal and interactive approach to dealing with negative online press and complaints. When a high profile person within your organisation is seen to be dealing with consumer issues and complaints directly, it can have a very positive impact on your business rather than either ignoring these problems or responding as a corporate entity. This way of interacting with your customers should be done as part of an overall online reputation management strategy. Whether you’re looking to advance your own career or looking for a fresh way to raise your profile with consumers, nobody can afford to stand still when it comes to personal PR. Taking a back seat while others around you are proactively managing their reputations will leave you trailing behind.

It just depends on what's on my mind right then. I don't think there's anything you can't do. I've seen everything on there. But I suppose there probably are some rules. Spamming is obviously frowned upon.
