Kick Into Fall

After a little hiatus this summer from publishing my e-zine I am back in full force wishing you a wonderful fall season. Did you have a relaxing, fun-filled summer? Our summer went by too quickly! Before I knew it I was back at Target buying the kids back-to-school supplies and doing the "calendar shuffle". Why is it that more and more schools are starting up prior to Labor Day? What is the big rush to start so early? Is it because of all those minimum half school days during the school year? For our family this was the summer of many "mini-vacations" or long extended weekends. We kicked it off with a wedding in Seattle for my nephew Jake, a graduation in Santa Barbara for my niece, Chelsey, long weekends at our families vacation home and our annual vacation at the Feather River Park Resort in Graeagle. We wrapped up the summer a few weeks ago with one more family wedding, our annual wine bottling party AND 70th birthday celebration for my dad. WOW! Lots & lots of family time this summer! Now that summer is over and we kick into fall many of us need a kick in the pants to jumpstart our marketing efforts. Remember the single biggest, non-renewable asset you have is your time. There are only three things you can do with it: waste it , sell it or invest it. As a service professional what you do with your time will directly effect how much money you can make. Now is the time to invest your time into marketing assets that will grow your business for next year.

Re: Alexa Ranking Goals Re: Alexa Ranking Goals - Thanks, Evan! As GT mentioned, summer is normally a slow time for everyone, so there's no reason to feel discouraged. September is here, and Fall is right around the corner, so whatever time you can spend for your business focus on utilizing other blogs in your niche, forums, article marketing... whatever you prefer to drive more traffic to your site. Let's make it a great September, everyone!
Setting Up an Affiliate Program Setting Up an Affiliate Program - I've been looking at some affiliate site options and am leaning toward AWeber.com. Some of the reasons are because I would like to have my email service, my auto responder and y affiliate program all in one place. At this point, I can't justify $99 a month for some of the other options like 1 Shopping Cart and Kick Start Cart. I also would like the option to automatically download an ebook through their program once payment is made. Anyone tried something that they really like that had a decent price and that was dependable?? Shri
The best time to open a new business The best time to open a new business - I agree. It depends on the business. However, in some cases there are ways around that if you allow yourself to open up to possibilities and get creative. For example, my husband and I are in the process of beginning a sport's store. We live in a touristy community with a lot of winter sports. There are summer sports here as well, but the winter appears to be the most lucrative. We planned on things coming together in order to take advantage of the winter sport's season, but our ideal lease space was held up by circumstances beyond our control. We are still not in. Lease space is minimal so we have some decisions to make. We could either delay everything until Fall or get very creative around our marketing for the warmer weather sports and start right away. We chose to open up to the possibility that there must be a way to succeed in the off season. Because we chose to think positively and look for solutions that fit what we want to do, all sorts of ideas started coming to us. We are now positive we have a plan that will succeed. So, the answer really depends on the business and your willingness to open up to new creative ideas around it.

For instance, when I was doing research on my potential tennis shop idea, the Prince Tennis sales rep I spoke with was telling me how I would need to diversify my product line with more than just "tennis stuff". He suggested that I expand my product offering by also selling other "in-door" sport equipment for things like badminton, squash, volleyball and soccer in order to survive the winter months.
