An Attitude of Gratitude Is Every Day Not Just One Day

Thanksgiving Day in the United States is a recognized day of gratitude, a day to be thankful for not just the tangible receipts of our efforts, but more so the intangible ones such as good health, great relationships and a balanced life. By being truly grateful for what we have received, we can continue to receive more and share our efforts with others.

In business there is continued focus to increase sales. And as I have written many times, without the ability to increase sales or secure new revenue, organizations will flounder and be unable to meet payroll and other operational expenses. However securing new clients are only the first step to building a great organization of high performance.

For it is the behaviors that everyone demonstrates where the rubber meets the road. This is why I encourage all of my clients to have a written values statement and then a discussion with their workforce as to what the behaviors look like for each core value within this written statement. Sales Training Coaching Tip: Articulating your business ethics is critical to organizational and individual success.

Holiday seasons reflect more of these gratitude behaviors from the receipts of Thanksgiving day cards or postcards, to emails wishing everyone a great holiday to breaking of bread over luncheons with clients or trusted business partners. However, the question then surfaces how consistent are you with these behaviors from January to the end of October or the other 10 months of the year?

Possibly now is the time to put together a schedule (annual calendar) of gratitude where you thank not only your customers, your employees, but everyone else who is connected with you growing your business. These business ethics actions could be a quick handwritten note, mailing an article that you know the other person would appreciate or just a brief call to say thank you for being there.

If gratitude is one of your core values, then remember to live it each day by demonstrating specific thankful business ethics behaviors. For no matter what we say or write, it is our behaviors that people see because being mind readers (mental telepathy) is still not a proficient skill set for the 99.9% of the human race.

Re: what brings tears to Your eyes ???? Re: what brings tears to Your eyes ???? - Hi Barry Being able to make a difference in a life, whether it is a human life or an animals life I think gives one a wonderful feeling of gratitude. Gratitude of being in a position to help and that what you do is actually going to make a difference is definitely enough to bring tears to your eyes. MichelleJ
Re: What to do at the first roadblock? Re: What to do at the first roadblock? - Upon first discouragement, dig in and see if things are as they seem. Sometimes, even though there are several products out there that appear comparable, they are no match. Maybe they do don't a good job of what they are intended for, or maybe there are several glitches in their system, or perhaps their customer service just plain stinks. Decide how you can "one up" all of these things and decide that you are going to create a better product that more people would want. Attitude is 95% of the battle. If you feel defeated before you've done any research on any of the other products, you're doing yourself a huge disservice. Give yourself a chance and see if you can be the BEST in every way. This will get you far no matter what the venture.
Re: Stay positive! Re: Stay positive! - Great theme My favorite book the ageless "Power of Positive Thinking" and I do not read many of these Motivational Books, Attitude is everything - a positive one is ore likely to bring positive results According to my Pisces horoscope - I am told that by my birth I am to be moody. We all have those bad days, but even though moody by nature, I tried to keep those days down to 4 or 5 a year - not bad for a Pisces Hang with the positives, lose the negatives
Re: Who hates cold calling? Re: Who hates cold calling? - About 15 years ago I worked for this sales company that used to sell anything from Kitchen Knives to Dry Cell Torches. The owner was a very motivating guy and he would ask us to get to the office by 7.00AM and we could sing and dance for an hour before we went to sell the products in the streets, stopping anyone and telling them our products were on discount. We used to sell snow to Eskimos, why were we able to do that? because of PMA (Positive Mental Attitude). The key to cold calling is like beauty, in eyes of the beholder. If you have no PMA, you cannot sell. Remember the law of average that states that if you went to a dance and every girl or guy you approached for a dance decline your proposal. What do you do? Do you stop? If you have a PMA, you continue until you get one person who agree to dance with you despite how ugly you look, that is is PMA and that is the power of cold calling.
