Business Coach: Do You Employ the Yard by Yard or Inch by Inch Methodology to Master Success

If you are a business coach or even considering hiring a business coach, what methodology do you infuse within your practice? During the last 10 years, I have observed two distinct methodologies.

The first approach is the Yard by Yard. Within this methodology, the client looks to the future and established what some call BHAG (Big Hairy & Audacious Goals). Plans are established and tactics are created to move forward yard by yard. Excitement reigns as the client eagerly looks forward to the future in anticipation of achieving these goals and becoming the Master of Success.

However, what happens in many cases is just the opposite. The Yard by Yard approach is much harder than the coaching client realizes. Instead of being viewed as just a few feet, the yard is viewed as a mile long because success is not easily achieved. Now an attitude of failure kicks in and each yard becomes even harder than the yard before. The road to success is now filled with obstacles that appear to be mountains instead of molehills.

The other approach is Inch by Inch. Basically, this methodology looks at the elephant in the room and begins to nibble away at it bite by bite. The client knows what he or she wants, but this coach knows that yard by yard is very hard.

So, the business coach shows how to turn those big hairy audacious goals or BHAG into much smaller and more manageable goals. Now the goal to master success comes much easier. A business coach who infuses a proven goal setting and goal achievement process within their business understands that inch by inch are truly a cinch.

If you want to increase your business success as a business coach to get to where you want to go as you travel the road to success, then maybe you need to determine if you are doing the yard by yard is very hard or inch by inch is a cinch methodology.

Newbie from Africa Newbie from Africa - Hi Everyone! Just launched a new multi admin site "Naijayard" It's an Online Shopping Catalogue and is set to be a connection between buyers/sellers from Africa and buyers/sellers from other parts of the world! Its's quite new but I have my entrepreneurial muscles up. It cost a lot to build since its bespoke and multi-admin, but its worth it. We are on the promotion phase now, which has a whole different set of challenges, but I'll keep you posted. You can go look at the site and support the best way you can. It doesn't cost a thing to get a "Yard" (Store), so if you know any seller that wants to reach the African Market, this is one stressless medium. Suggestions are Welcome!
Re: Business Coaching Resources Re: Business Coaching Resources - You're fortunate when you can find a Business Coach who has experience beyond where you've been and even where you are going. When your budget is slim and even after, it's good to have a mentor. Several of various backgrounds are very useful. They can be teachers, professors, pastors, business people, family members, bosses and former bosses. You have to be clear on what you want and what you desire to achieve, be able to convey it as simply as possible. Stop and listen and don't over tax their time. You should always expect results whether from a Business Coach or Mentors. If you're not gtting results, you're either not focused or you need to upgrade the quality of your mentors/coaches. Always surround yourself by people smarter than you.

Re: Helping a Grade 5/6 student make money fast Re: Helping a Grade 5/6 student make money fast - Mowing, doing simple yard work tasks, etc. are all good ways for this age group to earn money. The thing I've noticed with kids is that they're more computer savvy than when I was that age. So, moving to a more technical side of making money might be a good idea. Yard work and the like is definitely the easiest way to start. If their parents allow them to use their equipment, then the only cost is gas, which can be paid for by the money coming in. If they do a good job, then they should be able to find more clients simply by word-of-mouth. Selling stuff on eBay is a possibility. I wouldn't role out starting a blog. Granted, their writing won't be perfect, but a lot of adults' writing isn't the greatest either. As long as they can get the general idea across, then I see nothing wrong with it. And, if they're just being themselves and letting people know who they are, as they should, then I would think people would be very understanding about their writing skills. I wouldn't expect a 5/6 grader's writing to be perfect, and what they have to say might still be useful and helpful for someone. No matter what direction they take, having the support of their parents is critical. There's the obvious financial aspect, but they also need to be encouraged as well. There's nothing better for a kid that age than to hear words of encouragement from their parents and to be supported with whatever they want to do.
Re: Success Re: Success - I study success intently, and would like to share: Here's two excellent and nearly identical success-formulas from a couple of the world's masters. FIRST FORMULA: 1. Passionate Desire 2. Clear, Definite Purpose 3. Committed Decision 4. Take Action In Faith (Bonus Secret Sauce: 5. Repeat Consistently) I made a video about this, but am not allowed to link it yet. Google "Ryze Success Steps" for it. Oh, and this is Napoleon Hill's (Master Of Success Laws)'s Formula. SECOND FORMULA: 1. Passionate Desire 2. Understand It Is Already Done (Faith) 3. Relax & Allow It To Unfold (Go about your life calmly) This one is courtesy of Abraham-Hicks (inspiration for the movie The Secret). Hope that helps!
