Critical Judgements Required To Increase Sales

Crazy busy sales people to C Suite executive must make decisions every day to maximize this limited and non-renewable resource of time. In a blog by Jonathan Farrington he explained about his need to prioritize his time when it comes to social media. For another active small business owner who responded to a LinkedIn discussion, she shared she spends only 20 minutes per day in social media and has measurable results (think increase sales).

Bottom line critical judgments are required to run a profitable and sustainable business. These decisions can be categorized into one of these six buckets:

  1. Marketing
  2. Sales
  3. Customer Loyalty or Growth
  4. Management or Leadership
  5. Growth or Innovation
  6. Financials
Yet, in speaking with business professionals, I can honestly say less than 25% have clearly articulated action plans from which to direct their daily activities. These are the individuals like Jonathan who have made course corrections to ensure their main business goals are achieved.

What never ceases to amaze me is this one excuse - I don't have time. When I hear these words, I think of the White Rabbit in Alice and Wonderland, "I'm late, I'm late for a very important date."

This statement alone should have you running to a solution be it a local mastermind group to speaking to a mentor to hiring a business coach or consultant. When you don't have time, you are demonstrating the behaviors identified in Michael Gerber's well worn words by working far too much IN the business instead of working ON the business.

If you want the current year to be better than the previous one, now is the time not later to take action on making those critical judgments. Otherwise your ability to secure a NEW status quo will be eliminated and you will be in the same place this time next year

Re: Subject line Etiquette Re: Subject line Etiquette - [quote="jvprosperity":b50c4a20]Another email rant: Is there some place on the internet that outlines proper "Subject line" headings? There mus be a system out there that people use to be more efficient email senders. Not everything that comes into my mail box requires my immediate attention. I would love to educate myself and the people who send me emails on proper subject lines. Maybe something like: "Urgent Review: <<Title of document>>" "Decision Required: "<<Subject matter>>" just something for me to quickly scan the subject lines and decide which ones need my immediate attention. Anyone know of such email standards that exist out there?[/quote:b50c4a20] The only messages I get that say Urgent or Decision Required etc are spam. I tell people to put something relevant to their business with me in the subject line - this is especially important for the people who fall into my junk mail. Chris
