Increase Sales By Energizing Your Message
"You can't bore someone into doing business with you" were the words uttered by David Ogilvy, advertising giant and direct marketing advocate. So the question is how is your message creating energy?
Just take a few minutes to listen to those now, mandated 30 second spiels. How many truly energize you to take action? In other words, how many times have you left your chair after the event and hurriedly walked over to the person delivering that exciting and energizing message? More importantly, how many people rushed over to speak with you after your elevator speech?
From my experience as a sales coach, most messages are dull, life less and frankly rather boring. Even experienced sales professionals who have an energizing message, must change it because people can become very conditioned to what you say week after week or encounter after encounter.
Then look at your marketing copy in your brochures or on your website. Does it energize and inspire your readers to take action? Sales Coaching Tip: Energize is a code word for conversion. And it is precisely those conversions that you are seeking.
So if you are not converting listeners to qualified prospects and Internet site visitors to list subscribers or better yet paying customers, then maybe it is time to rethink you message? While rethinking this process, make sure that you check out your own physical image. Sales Coaching Tip: Your physical image is as important as your verbal message.
Are you calmly excited about sharing what you do? Do people hear the energy, passion and commitment in your voice? Is your body language also demonstrating high energy from facial expressions to hand movements? Finally, are you dressed appropriately? Does your attire exude confidence and professionalism?
Sales Coaching Tip: Remember, people want to buy from people they know and trust. By demonstrating a cohesive and energizing message through your words and physical presence, you will be able to increase sale sand literally become that Red Jacket in the sea of Gray Suits.
