Increase Sales by Removing the Chains of Emotional Bondage
What is holding you back from your goal to increase sales? In many cases what is holding back most people are the chains of emotional bondage. These chains range in size from small to King Kong big. And the only way to break them is through your thoughts or what some call self talk or positive talk.
Many times in life we read books or see movies where the hero or heroine is bound by chains or ropes. However this bondage is short lived because these heroes take action and break their chains. Of course life is not like the movies, it is actually far better because you have the power to break the chains simply with your thoughts.
The average person has 12,000 thoughts according to a recent studied conducted by the National Science Foundation (NSF). This same study revealed that the above average person has up to 50,000 thoughts. Just think of the power residing in your thoughts.
Henry Ford said "If you think you can or you think you cannot either way you are right."
I was reminded of this quote when I read of a particular challenge started by 3 individuals on Twitter. This soon spread like a virus and within a very short time over 800 people had agreed to take the challenge.
The challenge was simple – Write an article a day for 100 days, submit and have them approved by a specific article directory site - EzineArticles. For individuals who use article marketing to drive traffic to their websites, this is a great marketing strategy because it is free and it is focused.
In reading the blog associated with this challenge, I saw a lot of chains that had kept people from executing this marketing strategy.
One person wrote that he was intending to publish additional articles. Intention is am emotional bondage chain.
Another wrote about getting a little burned out on article writing even though he admits that article writing as a marketing strategy does increase sales. Here is another example of being chained by your emotions.
Additional comments included:
One almighty undertaking (Given that it is just an article a day, this person is being bound by his or her emotions.)
Not sure I can do this (Again, the emotional chains are showing.)
Impetus I needed (Emotions keep you from moving forward and may require outside influences or inspiration)
There was no way I could do this (Your thoughts are tied to emotions that bind, restrict or constrict your actions)
I have had articles and ideas in my head for months and months (Thoughts stay as thoughts when held captive by your emotional chains.)
I will try and write some more (As Yoda said “There is no try just do.”)
Writing an article a day is something I knew I should do (Great demonstration of the being busy emotion chains.)
Sales Coaching Tip: Remove your chains of emotional bondage. By changing the words you think, write and speak you will improve your results be them to increase sales, build customer loyalty or to have a sense of personal accomplishment. Invest the time to tunr all those negative thoughts that restrict you from your sales goals around into positive ones that will catapult you forward to sales success.
