How to Craft an Engaging Message That Highlights What You Do to Increase Sales - By Leanne Hoagland-Smith

Do you want to be a failure? Of course not! Do you want to be a success whatever that means for you? Absolutely, you answer.

I have asked these very same questions during the last 5 years when I speak or facilitate training sessions. What I have learned is that no one, regardless of age, desires failure. Everyone wants success.

However, if no one wants failure and everyone wants success, then why isn’t there more success? The answer to this simple question, I believe, is because success demands that you must go where you have never been before by doing what you have never done before.

To achieve success means that you must identify where you want to go and want you need to do to achieve that success. So what does success mean to you? You can’t go where you have never gone before until you know what that looks like.

Take the time to define success for yourself. For years, I never had a solid, written definition of success. Then after changing the focus of my business from instructional design (writing training and education curriculums) to organizational development and people development through business coaching, I learned this definition of success.

Success is the continual achievement of your own predetermined goals, stabilized by balance and purified by belief.

Then as I went to places that I had never gone before, my definition evolved to:

Success is the continual achievement of your own predetermined WAY SMART goals, stabilized by balance, purified by belief, aligned to my purpose and fueled by my passion.

During this process, I began to do things that I had never done before including proactive business networking. Networking for some is easier, but when you are essentially an introvert who would rather curl up with a good book than go meet some strangers, this is very difficult.

Simply speaking, success can be yours as well provided you are willing to take the risk to go where you have never gone before and be committed to doing what you have never done before.
