The Secret to Success Begins By Not Being On Someone Elses Plan

At a recent conference, I once again heard these words "If you don't have a plan and work that plan, you are on someone else's plan and working that plan." From my 20 plus years in business and education, one of the most consistent behaviors I observe is the lack of a written plan.

Many people wonder why they are not successful and they fail to realize that success begins with a written Action Plan. Yet, a common day activity quietly revels the power of the written word.

Everyone has experienced the value that a simple, written grocery list has. When that written list is forgotten, the trip to the grocery store usually ends up costing one if not all of the following:

1.Money because we spent more than originally planned
2.Time because we walked up and down aisles that we hadn’t planned
3.Frustration because we failed to purchase everything on the plan
4.Redo’s because we had to return sooner than planned
5.Control because the grocery store marketing experts now are in control

This simple list not only has value, but the value is significant due to the costs associated with not having a written list. So if a simple written grocery list has significant value, then where is the written plan for the rest of your life?

If you don't have a written plan to achieve the success that you desire, then what you are really saying to yourself and others is that this simple, written grocery list has more value than your ENTIRE future! So if you want to achieve success, begin today, and start committing your dreams and goals to writing. Keep these written lists in an organized binder and review them weekly, monthly and yearly. Since you haven't used chisels and stone, you can easily review them and make the necessary course corrections because life is full of change. The secret to success is only a pen or pencil and a sheet of paper away.

Re: Success Re: Success - I study success intently, and would like to share: Here's two excellent and nearly identical success-formulas from a couple of the world's masters. FIRST FORMULA: 1. Passionate Desire 2. Clear, Definite Purpose 3. Committed Decision 4. Take Action In Faith (Bonus Secret Sauce: 5. Repeat Consistently) I made a video about this, but am not allowed to link it yet. Google "Ryze Success Steps" for it. Oh, and this is Napoleon Hill's (Master Of Success Laws)'s Formula. SECOND FORMULA: 1. Passionate Desire 2. Understand It Is Already Done (Faith) 3. Relax & Allow It To Unfold (Go about your life calmly) This one is courtesy of Abraham-Hicks (inspiration for the movie The Secret). Hope that helps!
Re: Web Business Podcast is LIVE! :) Re: Web Business Podcast is LIVE! :) - Hi David - have you thought of making these into videos? Even if it doesn't have you live on screen? Remembering the Success Secret Keywords would be a lot easier if we could see them.
Business Innovation Business Innovation - Hi Simon If you can finish off the Business Plan and think about your strategic direction or how you are going to use your product to convince people it's a great idea, it will set the foundation for your programming project. You see, when you are looking for funding you will need a Business Plan and Strategic Plan that will convince companies to invest into your new idea. Has anyone achieved this idea before using another industry besides health and fitness that you know of? You should also design some mockups as a "preview" for your programming project. This will also help reduce your programming costs as everyone will know exactly what you want if you have detailed mockups already completed including any functionality you require. Starting mockups for websites and software applications on paper is the best way if you're not a guru in graphic editing software.
Victoria's Secret - Too Sexy? Victoria's Secret - Too Sexy? - This will be upsetting for some men. I just heard a report about Victoria's Secret and it was interesting. Their sales were down drastically in the 4th quarter of 2007 and the report was about how they are thinking the company has gotten too far away from the heritage that made it the blockbuster company it is. They are thinking the ads etc have become too sexy and the plan (at the moment) is to make the ads more sophisticated. That would be like the Super Bowl commercial which was very tasteful, but very different from any Victoria's Secret I've seen lately. Who do you all think the current sexy ads are targeting? I think its the men that they hope will buy these items for their female significant others. I hate to give Omarosa any kudos - but most women aren't "sold" on an item by an ad of a near naked sexy woman. Shri
The Secret The Secret - Hi Binary Guy - The Secret certainly has been getting a lot of attention and promotion by the likes of Oprah. What have your experiences been with the program?
