What Should Your Time Management Training Cost in Terms of Money Time and Results

So you are running out of time or your people are having issues getting projects completed on time. Time management training may be a viable solution. Before you run out and sign up for that time management seminar or workshop, you should seriously consider the issues of money, time and results.

Issue #1 - Money

Time management training ranges from less than $100 for in-house services to over $1,500 for a 2 day off-site workshop. For example, if each individual in your organizations wastes 12 minutes each workday, this totals 52 hours per year. Depending upon the employee’s salary, your yearly waste in salaries only many range from $500 (based on $20,000 basic salary no fringe benefits) to $1,500 (based on $60,000 basic salary no fringe benefits).

Issue #2 - Time

Is the scheduled time enough to improve the current time management issues? Since human beings are creatures of habit, will a 4-hour to a 2-day – 12 hour training session change the habits of your employees or every yourself? Then training time needs to be scheduled to provide opportunities for ongoing performance or practice to ensure that new effective time management habits have been actively embraced.

Issue #3 - Results

What are the specific and measurable results that you expect from the training? When the results are clearly delineated first, then determining the return on investment for the training is much easier achieved.

When all 3 factors are considered, you as the decision-maker can make a better and more effective time management decision. And remember, that time management is truly an oxymoron since a constant that being time cannot be managed. Any effective time management training is all about becoming a better manager of you.

Your Intial Mistakes Business - Hi, When I started my business I had made a lot of mistakes initially. These helped me in learning the art of the trade and today when I look back, I feel that these mistakes were quite silly. I had made my learnings then and those learnings have helped me time and again. Some of the mistakes I made were - i. Wrong Time Management ii. Wasting money on glossy Brochures and Business cards iii. Believing what they taught me at school was 100% correct iv. Giving too much when it was not required...... I don't know if I'm alone in this. I have about six or seven projects I'm working on at any given time. I get one project almost done... then my interest is piqued by another project and I work on that... I get burnt out and move to another...I know I do this so I have it arranged such that once I get bored or burnt out with one project, I can step right back into project 1 - or 2 or 3, and get that a little bit more done before moving on to something else. As long as you're organized and know where all your reference material/idea sheets are when you're ready to get back to work on each project, it should be fine. I also find that by stepping away from a project - I still work on it in the recesses of my mind so that when I go back to it - it's with some good ideas that I wouldn't have had if I'd continued on with it originally. Maybe I should write a book on how to Procrastinate Constructively... I've actually thought about doing that...because most people procrastinate, don't they...and very few are ever able to stop.
