Dare to Dream Bigger than You Ever Have

Are you short-changing yourself? Do you hold back on how big you let yourself dream? Is it time for you to super-size your goals and dreams? You know the adage-lifegives uswhat you ask of it? It's really true. Most people I know are timid about really "going" for it and have a lot of reasons and excuses as to whytheycan't have what they want, even those of us who feel like we are "big thinkers" could turn up the volume of our desires and aim higher and as a result create stunning successes that benefit not only ourselves and our business but truly make the world a better place.

I'm curious; if you could tell me right now, what yourcurrent big goals and dreams are.

Could you describe them to me in glowing, vivid detail? Don't be shy!

Do you believe in yourself and the power of your dreams? Let me share a story with you.

Recently ImetSean Stephenson, author of "Get Off Your But" and I can honestly say, I am forever changed.

Sean has an interesting, compelling and inspirational life story. Sean was born with a bone disease which stunted his growth and has kept him wheelchair bound. While he may onlymeasure 3 feet tall, Sean's spirit, big heart, and optimistic "can-do"outlook on life is incredible and off the charts inspirational.Sean's list of accomplishments is a mile long.. In our short time together I learned a lotvia Sean's formulawhich isheart's desires +the mind's focus, and pure intention = manifest miracles.

Sean hasn't let physical limitations crush his dreams. He's living testimony to-if he can do it, so can we! To his credit, Sean is a licensed psychotherapist, motivational and inspirational speaker who trains and facilitates groups internationally. When I met Sean, he'd just returned from Malaysia where he spent time with Virgin's CEO, Richard Branson. You can learn more about Sean by visiting his site, reading his new book "Get Off Your But" (The title is a very clever and effective play on words)and watching his new show on A&E "The 3 Foot Giant", which is slated to premier in fall of 2009.

What dreams of yours are limp, lifeless and need a shot of new life and energy? If you have the thought, and you have the desire-then honor your dream and take action on it today. As I learned from Sean, just get off your "but" (But... I'm too old, But... I'm not... But...) drop the excuses and claim what you want, AND take avid, inspired action. Dream it, design it and then go do it!

Re: Getting *back* to the next step Re: Getting *back* to the next step - I think small things can make a big difference. Cut corners when ever possible. To the point that you don't lose any business. For example: start using cheaper products around the office. You'd be surprised how much money you can save just by going to a less expensive brand for the same items. Start soliciting referrals. People are happy to give you a good one if you've done a good job. You just have to ASK. Word of mouth is the most powerful form of advertising and it's the least expensive = free! Turn off lights and computers and even pull plugs on appliances on the weekends, or even every night if you have time and aren't using them. This saves a lot of energy in the long run and you should be conserving energy anyway. Dare I say this......shake the printer ink and make it go another 50 copies. Over a year you can save quite a bit in ink costs. There are other cuts you can make that won't impact the quality of your service/product if you sit down and really think it over, but this is a start.
Re: What is one of your favorite sales and marketing book? Re: What is one of your favorite sales and marketing book? - Great post. I love biographies. My favorite book is The Magic of Thinking Big. It's such a quick, easy read. But the big take away message is you should dream big because most people don't bother to dream big and actually try big. The book cites the example of a job posting for an executive position gets far fewer responses than a job for a mid level manager or a mailroom clerk. So Dream Big & Do Big because most people won't. Off to get the Zappos book.
Re: What inspires you? Re: What inspires you? - Inspiration is nothing it is what you called to do? Some work for money, some work for satisfaction, some work because they have priorities in life. It is the passion to do something for achievement or to show that you can do it by using one's talent. I know there are people who are doing great things with their limited skill sets. So, my view point about inspiration is to Dream Big and try to achieve it. I would rather add "Listen to your self". Listen to Inner guide and follow it. You will reach great heights. Robert
