Stop the Drama

You've got big dreams, you've got your vision, and you've carefully constructed your plan.

That's all you need, right?

Not a chance!

It takes more than a really great plan to get the juicy results that you desire.

One of the biggest obstacles to your success could be: YOU!

Are you avoiding things that really need to be taken care of?

You're not alone; it's human nature to shy away from the unpleasantries! It's much easier to ignore, procrastinate, or distract ourselves from our troubles.

For a while, this strategy can work for us. Out of sight, out of mind! It's a lovely strategy, isn't it? As a problem occurs, put it off until "tomorrow." The problem is, this strategy works so beautifully at first that you get into the habit of glossing over such things as:
• Annoying ongoing issues with your computer
• Nagging thoughts about updating your will
• Worrisome thoughts about trademarking your business name or product
• Even minor health concerns - your heart skipping beats or your overdue dental exam
Just as you embark on something crucial, uh oh --
• Your tooth suddenly flares up
• Your web support person disappears from the planet
• Your computer dies dramatically, leaving you with a blue screen and all of your files vanish into thin air
Instead of developing that profitable new product, creating that big proposal or designing a package, you're busy in "reaction" mode, taking care of something that's grown into a major inconvenience. That "little" thing you've been ignoring has suddenly become a "huge" thing that takes you away from your highest priorities.

Here are 3 quick tips to curb the drama:
1. Quit Procrastinating! What are the squeaky wheels in your life? Instead of ignoring them, handle them! Procrastination has a way of catching up with us and the cumulative effect can really throw you into a tailspin. Not fun. Definitely not productive.
2. Clean Sweep Your Business - Take an honest inventory of which areas need your focus. Is it your systems, client care management, how you keep your financial records, or your overbooked schedule? Make the decision to up-level one of these areas this week! You will be glad you did.
3. Upgrade Your Self Care - Are you taking good care of you? How's your diet, fitness, and energy levels? Do one thing this week to increase your well being. Try a new supplement, get a massage, or schedule a training session. Watch your energy soar!

Re: New Idea...suggestions please Re: New Idea...suggestions please - People, it's easier than you think in some cases. Say you are replying to a question and you are about to refer to company ABC's website. Stop and explore their site for their affiliate program. If they have one, register and use your affiliate link in your post. If this takes time, you can post a regular link first, then come back and edit your reply by swapping for your affiliate link. If you post regularly, you'll soon have accounts at all the affiliate exchanges and you'll start getting money from your referrals. How about it?

I've had suggestions of interest from other high profile potential clients but I have chosen not to pursue them at this time.[/quote:10b1rb6o] Hi GT, Who knows, perhaps you'll need to take that leap of faith and "burn your bridges" (of escape/going back) like Dale Carnegie suggests in "How to Stop Worrying and Start Living" to get to the next level and reach your income goal. Complacency and comfort can be death.
Re: Business Coaching Resources Re: Business Coaching Resources - You're fortunate when you can find a Business Coach who has experience beyond where you've been and even where you are going. When your budget is slim and even after, it's good to have a mentor. Several of various backgrounds are very useful. They can be teachers, professors, pastors, business people, family members, bosses and former bosses. You have to be clear on what you want and what you desire to achieve, be able to convey it as simply as possible. Stop and listen and don't over tax their time. You should always expect results whether from a Business Coach or Mentors. If you're not gtting results, you're either not focused or you need to upgrade the quality of your mentors/coaches. Always surround yourself by people smarter than you.
