Expatriate counseling uses NLP for Counseling

Written by: Robbert-Jan Nuis

Article Overview: NLP explores the inner workings of the human mind; how we think, how we develop our desires, goals and fears and how we motivate ourselves, make connections, and give meaning to our experiences. By understanding this process, individuals are presented with specific skills and patterns necessary to make positive changes, create new choices, be more effective with others, break free of old habits, self-destructive patterns and behaviours, and think more clearly about what he or she wants and how to attain it.

Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) is the study of how people organize their thoughts, feelings, language, and behaviour. It is about understanding the structure of how the human nervous system (neuro) transforms data received through the five senses into mental descriptions (linguistic) and the resultant unconscious behaviour (programming).” In other words, NLP represents a model for understanding the unconscious thinking processes that drive behaviour.
Neuro refers to our nervous system or mind and how it processes information and codes it as memory. In other words, how experiences are inputted, processed, and ordered by our neurological mechanisms.
Linguistic indicates that the neural processes of the mind come coded, ordered, and are given meaning through language, communication systems, and various symbolic systems (e.g. grammar, mathematics, music and icons).
Programming denotes our ability to organize sensory-based information (sights, sounds, sensations, smells, tastes and symbols or words) within our mind-body, which then enables us to achieve our desired outcome.

NLP can be used by individuals, couples, families, groups of people in the workplace, or anywhere people interact. Using NLP consciously gives individuals tools to better understand themselves, other people, and can improve life experiences. NLP can be used for anything that is stuck, unfinished, undone, broken, changed, etc.

Because NLP provides a model of how we see, hear, feel, taste and smell the world, individuals then acquire a map of life, which can be used as a guide. NLP is used with respect to one’s present state. By understanding one’s mind, it can become clear how to control its operation and change current patterns of behaviour.

• During NLP training participants practice with one another to gain an in-depth understanding of concepts.
• The training is organized to teach participants how their lives have been constructed up until now and what they can do to make the adjustments to get what they want.
• Participants use different modalities to learn about themselves and the world they live in.
• The training reveals peoples’ beliefs and can be confrontational.
• People will determine what works for them and what does not.
• NLP is very practical and can therefore be used anytime, anywhere under any situation.

If you feel like you could use help with your life, need help communicating with others, or are motivated to change for the better, then you are ready to learn more about NLP.

Re: Alternative Divorce Franchise? Re: Alternative Divorce Franchise? - I agree with Kevin. I need to know more about what they'll be doing before I can make a good comment. It seems like there is a lot of potential, but I suppose there are specific laws you would have to know and follow when buying into the franchise since it probably has some counseling involved.

looking for entrepreneur to launch counseling/training biz looking for entrepreneur to launch counseling/training biz - I am looking for an entrepreneur who would be interested in taking part in launching online (and offline) counseling and training using my concept based on modern psychology, NLP, low of attraction, etc. I know how to build a profitable business, create a brand and make it popular through advertising, viral and Internet marketing. Even though it is not a web start-up, this type of business can be very profitable and there is a niche which is not yet saturated at this moment. The business model doesn’t require significant funding to get the ball rolling. The concept itself is cool and interesting – I discussed it with many business and regular people and got a very positive feedback. I have IT/financial background and looking for someone who either have psychological background or an entrepreneur who knows how to start and develop a new business from scratch. I’ll be glad to share more details upon request.
