Entering the New Year with a Heart Connection
It’s easy to get caught up in the busyness of our day, consumed at times in our own anxious energy, possibly feeling pressures from others, or narrowly focused on accomplishing our own tasks. When this occurs, we may face negative consequences. Our selfish energy will be perceived as such. Before taking action, we must take a minute and ask “What is our intent?” “How can we connect from our heart to achieve our task?” “What type of energy do I want to be in this moment?”
I admit, it happens to all of us from time to time and then we run across someone who points out our behavior. At that pivotal moment, we can choose to own our energy, or ignore it by blaming the other person and stating, “It’s their stuff and move on”. Or we can ask, “I wonder what the lesson is for me.” What can I learn? “What did I contribute for this to occur?”
In a meditation, I was asking for clarity on a particular situation. I was shown how the energy of my communications caused a negative outcome.
In a business situation, while I was in a short two minute dialogue with a couple of people, my intention was not in my heart. I was focused on getting something accomplished, and because of that intention, they felt that energy. I did not come across warm, inviting or welcoming. I was focused on the logistics of making something happen. Unfortunately, they did not know me, so it was not easy for them to want to get to know me at that point.
I received a phone call the next day by someone telling me they did not want to pursue the business situation with me. I was in my head not my heart. I did apologize several times and took complete ownership, and tried to make it up to them. At that point the two minute damage had been done.
The interesting part of the story comes next. A few days later, I received a phone call from a woman. I felt the same way the two women felt with my communication. She was not acknowledging me from a heart to heart place. Her focus was on getting her task done. I told her that I felt her energy was rude and I didn’t want to work directly with her. And, I passed her name on to someone else.
Wow, this came right back in my face. My own energy vibration attracted this situation to me; it’s called the divine law of attraction. Our emotions and thoughts are energy that vibrates at a specific frequency constantly. Each thought has a consequence. Our positive thoughts and intentions, the ones that come from love, trust, truth, glee, faith, joy are examples of a high vibration that attracts that same frequency to us, more joy and goodness. And, the opposite is true too, our thoughts and emotions coming from frustration, anger, sadness, disappointment has a specific frequency and the longer we stay in this energy we have the probability of drawing more situations into our life that keep us in that vibration. Every thought, emotion and intention counts. We are spirit beings, electromagnetic beings, continually drawing energy to us. The slower and denser the energy the more solid or materialized.
It became so vividly clear that it’s vitally important to take a moment and be in our hearts before acting, before speaking, before making that phone call. Take a moment to remind yourself that there is a beautiful human being that you are about to connect with that deserves your respect, deserves to feel your heart and connection. Once this connection is felt, then this person is more apt to respond in a positive way to your needs.
A heart connection is the new way to operate in business and in our personal lives. It is the acceptable way. The universe is showing us that any other way is not acceptable anymore. In both of these situations, the goal was not achieved.
A powerful lesson!
I will remember that there is a human being on the other end of the phone that may have struggles of their own. At the end of the day—we all want the same things-- to be appreciated, honored and loved.
