Uplifting Others
Uplifting Others
Dear Friends,
Recently, I had a profound epiphany. I was in a new situation – doing something new for the first time. A women whom I will call Rita, treated me in a way that I didn’t like. I was sensing disapproving thought forms from her, which added to my own insecurity. I thought about it, and I asked myself if I have ever had disapproving thoughts towards others in a new situation. And, I have. The external world was mirroring back to me my thoughts that I had sent out to others on occasion. In that moment, I felt the feelings others may have felt when I judged them. Rita’s thoughts and energy towards me did not help- the energy actually increased my own doubts and insecurity. This brief, profound encounter has taken me into a much deeper level of compassion and patience for people- especially in new territory! It also showed my how important it is to empower others with kind and loving thoughts. It does not mean to ignore my guidance about someone, but I will strive harder to empathize, love and see the gifts.
If you want to help a person feel better about themselves- a family member, friend, co-worker, superior, or client- see their goodness in them, even when they may be acting in a way that you don’t approve of. I have learned focusing (thinking and talking) on the things you don’t like will increase more of that energy for that person. I know you have heard this before; this is a reminder of the importance of actually applying it on a regular basis. There are many, many, many layers of building blocks leading to full acceptance and god realization. Each layer of compassion, love, joy and forgiveness you grow into will bring you closer to your true nature, a higher vibration, allowing a deep connection with your life purpose and your heart.
If you have uncomfortable feelings about someone and you want to switch the energy- try this:
1.) Pray- Ask God, the Divine, Universal consciousness for help releasing your negative feelings, anger, or frustration. Ask for help to see the divinity within this person, ask for help to see this person through eyes of compassion and love. Ask what the gift is for you.
2.) Fill your heart with divine love- feel your own love and visualize sending this love to this person. This love will help heal any situation.
3.) Spend time finding a few nice things about the person to appreciate and focus on.
4.) If those things you don’t like about this person persists, keep turning it over to God and filling your heart up with love for them. Harv Eker, author of Secrets of the Millionaire Mind, says to respond to offensive comments by saying, “Thank you for sharing.”
5.) You have grown when you can be around these people and not react or respond in the same way. Good job! It’s up to you to change your perception, find the gift of compassion and love inside the irritant for your own growth and smile through it.
Love heals. Anger and criticizing creates more anger and insecurity in the world.
