A Tryst with Trust

A Tryst with Trust

Someone once said, “If you can't trust people, who can you trust?”

Here are 10 of my passing thoughts on trust:

1. Trust your instincts.

2. Trust your children and tell them so.

3. Trust people until they prove themselves otherwise.

4. Do not trust a backstabber.

5. Develop trust by matching your words with corresponding actions.

6. Trust cannot blossom alongside hidden agendas.

7. Be trustworthy even when there is no-one looking over your shoulder.

8. Engender trust by not revealing information that you have been told in confidence.

9. Remember that trust builds over time, but is shattered in seconds.

10. Be someone who can always be trusted.

Mutual trust is a reciprocal, delicate gift of the highest calibre and it is worth pursuing every day of your life: Trust me.

Look after yourself.
