Have you stopped believing in yourself?
Does that small voice in your head keep telling you that you can’t do it? That you’ve never been capable of doing it? That you’ll never be able to do it?
Self-belief wells from within and you’ll need to tap into it and keep on tapping into it if you want to follow through.
Tanni Grey-Thompson recently became Britain’s most successful paralympian by defending her 400m title and winning her 11th gold medal from five Paralympics. In a memorable interview she recalls, “By the time I was seven I was paralysed, so I can’t remember not being in a chair. But I was brought up to believe that I could achieve anything I wanted to as long as I studied hard and worked at things.”
What or who is stopping you from believing in yourself? Could it be you? Did you go wrong somewhere and you’ve never forgiven yourself? Or are you waiting on someone telling you that you have what it takes?
If that’s what it is, I’m telling you now: Believe in yourself. Banish negative self-talk and brandish self-confidence. Rise to the occasion and know that you will do it this time.
