Looking for Balance
Looking for Balance
One fulfilling experience can eclipse years of empty moments strung together. A wise and meaningful five-minute conversation beats a night of television watching. To a chocolate lover, a single piece of their favorite kind outdoes a pound of mediocre candy. A loving smile or a hearty hug has more value than hours of irrelevant chit chat.
Perhaps you have already realized that there are only sixty minutes in an hour, 24 hours in a day, and seven days in a week. You can look as hard as you like, but regardless of how powerful, creative or smart you are, you will not find “more time.”
Instead of looking for more time to spend with loved ones, begin by examining the way you spend time with them now and look for ways to improve the quality of that time. It is not the quantity that matters, but the quality you experience in each moment. In the Kan-Do Basic Training we proactively pursue these peak experiences and integrate them into your daily routine.

But if you can make a habit of your peak experiences, as we do in Kan-Do, your life will find the fulfillment and balance that will keep you happy…
