How healthy are your public relations efforts and your media relations? Do you have a prescribed plan to achieve healthy publicity for your organization year in and year out? This article is the second in a three part series of a prescription to present those strategic PR tips. Here are the third and final 10 strategic PR tips in the 3-part series.

Strategic PR Tip #21: Understand that PR is a 24 hour business, 7 days a week and 365 days a year. Call up newsdesks outside normal hours and talk with journalists at times that do not conflict with their deadlines.

Strategic PR Tip #22: Always have good photos/images with your news releases since stories are visual.

Strategic PR Tip #23: Commit to scanning the news on a daily basis to learn more about your relevant media. Look for the top story topics each day.

Strategic PR Tip #24: Make your PR fun. Create your own news and your own ideas. Be creative with funny stories.

Strategic PR Tip #25: Appoint a company spokesperson that can stay calm in tough media interviews and during times of negative publicity.

Strategic PR Tip #26: Develop and practice a crisis communications plan for your organization.

Strategic PR Tip #27: Be visible, honest & available throughout periods of bad news or negative publicity.

Strategic PR Tip #28: Communicate in a timely manner without delays during crisis situations.
