Never Just Sit There or Stand There When It Comes To Your Marketing Efforts

Never Just Sit There or Stand There When It Comes To Your Marketing Efforts

“Never Just Sit There or Stand There When It Comes To Your Marketing Efforts”
By: J. Glenn Ebersole, Jr., Chief Executive of J. G. Ebersole Associates and The Renaissance Group ™

One of Will Roger’s great quotes is one of my favorites. Will Rogers said, “Even if you are on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there. And this quote really is a great fit to reinforce the message I want to send with this article.

The beginning of a new year in business is a great time to look at your marketing efforts and develop an honest assessment of what has worked well and what is not working. And if you have just completed a very successful year or let’s say a record-breaking year, Congratulations! But, I refer you back to Will Roger’s quote in the beginning of this article and remind you that in spite of your success in the past, you cannot just sit there or stand there and be complacent for the year ahead. And by the way – if you did not have a good year last year, the same advice applies. In essence, it means you better start planning and implementing more strategic marketing planning efforts.

What can you do to avoid just sitting or standing there with your marketing efforts? Your strategic thinking business coach offers a list of eight (8) suggested actions to avoid the trap of being complacent in your marketing efforts.
1. Review the failed marketing efforts and identify the opportunities that exist in new marketing efforts to replace the failed ones.
2. Create an environment that rewards openness in identifying problems within your marketing efforts.
3. Seek advice internally and externally from your team and from an outside professional, such as a business coach.
4. Set clear and higher measurable goals for your prospecting and conversions rates as a result of your marketing efforts.
5. Commit to a policy of continuous improvement in your marketing strategies and efforts.
6. Pay special attention to listening and hearing your prospects so you will understand what they want.
7. Commit to experiment with new marketing strategies and ideas to continually identify better marketing solutions.
8. Develop and implement a strategic marketing plan based upon the above actions.

Your strategic thinking business coach encourages you to take a close look at your marketing efforts and to take the recommended actions listed above. If you would like to learn more about strategic marketing efforts and avoiding complacency in your marketing efforts and how a strategic thinking business coach can facilitate and guide you in that endeavor, please contact Glenn Ebersole today through his website at www.businesscoach4u.com or by email at jgecoach@aol.com
