Seven Suggested Strategic Actions To Achieve Expert Status, According To Your Strategic Thinking Business Coach

A very effective and powerful marketing strategy is to position yourself as an expert, authority or “guru” in your field. Achieving this coveted status requires planning and following a deliberate process. These achievers are the ones we turn to seek advice and information on a specific topic. We visit their websites, and read their books and articles as sources of valuable information and answers to our problems. These experts also develop and present seminars and workshops at a wide variety of locations. They also are sought out by the media as sources for stories and are often quoted in the media. Your Strategic Thinking Business Coach offers seven (7) suggested strategic actions to achieve expert status.

Suggested Strategic Action #1: Develop a clearly focused and defined plan with measurable goals and objectives and a timeline to achieve expert status.

Suggested Strategic Action #2: Write articles and have them published in professional journals, newspapers, e-zines and other media in your field. Writing these articles will make you think through and research your industry and/or professional field and puts your name in front of your target market. You must make sure the article is educational and informative, rather than a sales pitch.

Suggested Strategic Action #3: Write a book. Yes, this is a difficult task and requires a considerable amount of energy, research & time. You can seek and obtain professional help to help you write your book. You can write and publish your book online, have a small publishing house publish it and try to sell it or try to get a major publishing company to print it for you.

Suggested Strategic Action #4: Deliver speeches. Being introduced as a keynote speaker or subject matter expert at meetings, seminars and other professional gatherings will establish you as an expert. The more speeches you give, the more you will enhance your reputation as an expert. Speeches will also afford you that important face-to-face contact with your target market.

Suggested Strategic Action #5: Develop and conduct seminars and workshops. These are usually a half-day to three (3) days and are a very important venue for experts. These types of presentations offer an opportunity for you to provide more in-depth information and training than a speech and will serve as a very strategic marketing tool for specific markets.

Suggested Strategic Action #6: Enhance your website. Your website is a strategic medium for providing information about yourself and serving as a resource for people seeking information about your specific market niche. Your website should present an opportunity to sell your products and services online and an easy and user-friendly way to contact you and to learn more about what services and products you provide.

Suggested Strategic Action #7: Enhance your public relations skills. Establish yourself as a media resource so the media will seek you out when they have questions they need answered or they need a quote for a story. Commit to developing strategic working relationships with the media.

Your Strategic Thinking Business Coach encourages you to commit to becoming an expert in your field and to provide an ongoing flow of useful and valuable information to your target market. Re: Business Women Peer Mentoring Spotlight Re: Business Women Peer Mentoring Spotlight - Hi Tami, Have you reviewed other comparable sites and coaches? I think that you will find that they have positioned themselves a bit more 'out there', and they dont focus on cheap pricing as the key benefit. I think your copy needs to be much tighter with a focus on the key features and BENEFITS that group coaching provides. Look at The Strategic Coach model etc. Your bio needs to be stronger if you are going to be pitching business development and leadership development. Also, have you put together a strategy for list building and promotions? how many subscribers do you have currently. Local networking as well as grouping some of your existing clients into the first BETA group might help. People dont like 'NEW" services because it comes off that they will be the guinea pigs. Those are my initial thoughts for now. Hope it helps. I'll try and spend some more time reviewing over the weekend and get back to you! Jude
Business Innovation Business Innovation - Hi Simon If you can finish off the Business Plan and think about your strategic direction or how you are going to use your product to convince people it's a great idea, it will set the foundation for your programming project. You see, when you are looking for funding you will need a Business Plan and Strategic Plan that will convince companies to invest into your new idea. Has anyone achieved this idea before using another industry besides health and fitness that you know of? You should also design some mockups as a "preview" for your programming project. This will also help reduce your programming costs as everyone will know exactly what you want if you have detailed mockups already completed including any functionality you require. Starting mockups for websites and software applications on paper is the best way if you're not a guru in graphic editing software.
Re: Business Coaching Resources Re: Business Coaching Resources - You're fortunate when you can find a Business Coach who has experience beyond where you've been and even where you are going. When your budget is slim and even after, it's good to have a mentor. Several of various backgrounds are very useful. They can be teachers, professors, pastors, business people, family members, bosses and former bosses. You have to be clear on what you want and what you desire to achieve, be able to convey it as simply as possible. Stop and listen and don't over tax their time. You should always expect results whether from a Business Coach or Mentors. If you're not gtting results, you're either not focused or you need to upgrade the quality of your mentors/coaches. Always surround yourself by people smarter than you.
