Seven Suggested Strategic Actions To Achieve Expert Status, According To Your Strategic Thinking Business Coach
A very effective and powerful marketing strategy is to position yourself as an expert, authority or “guru” in your field. Achieving this coveted status requires planning and following a deliberate process. These achievers are the ones we turn to seek advice and information on a specific topic. We visit their websites, and read their books and articles as sources of valuable information and answers to our problems. These experts also develop and present seminars and workshops at a wide variety of locations. They also are sought out by the media as sources for stories and are often quoted in the media. You can write and publish your book online, have a small publishing house publish it and try to sell it or try to get a major publishing company to print it for you.
Suggested Strategic Action #4: Deliver speeches. Being introduced as a keynote speaker or subject matter expert at meetings, seminars and other professional gatherings will establish you as an expert. The more speeches you give, the more you will enhance your reputation as an expert. Speeches will also afford you that important face-to-face contact with your target market.
Suggested Strategic Action #5: Develop and conduct seminars and workshops. These are usually a half-day to three (3) days and are a very important venue for experts. These types of presentations offer an opportunity for you to provide more in-depth information and training than a speech and will serve as a very strategic marketing tool for specific markets.
Suggested Strategic Action #6: Enhance your website. Your website is a strategic medium for providing information about yourself and serving as a resource for people seeking information about your specific market niche. Your website should present an opportunity to sell your products and services online and an easy and user-friendly way to contact you and to learn more about what services and products you provide.
