Any time is a good time to think about how to grow your business. The last month of your calendar year or fiscal year is a very good time to think about and plan for the growth of your business. Companies need to think strategically about the coming year and what "grow goals" they should establish to grow your business.

For the purpose of this article, I am going to presume that you are near the end of your fiscal year or your calendar year and are ready to plan for the growth of your business in the coming year. And with that in mind, I want to share twelve (12) strategic "grow goals" to grow your business in the year ahead.

#1: Grow your strategic thinking and planning skills and use them to make better decisions.

#2: Grow the image of your business by improving and enhancing your reputation and striving for Top Of Mind Awareness (TOMA) with your clients.

#3: Grow your prospect pipeline by the strategic use of referrals.

#4: Grow your existing markets by doing more business with existing clients.

#5: Grow your awareness of market trends and market opportunities.

#6: Grow your awareness of the financial health of your business by tracking income and expenses and looking for gaps between the two.

#7: Grow your “value-added” services to your clients.

#8: Grow your strategic alliances that will expand your influence and capabilities to serve your clients.

#9: Grow your image as a good corporate citizen by becoming active in service to your community.

#10: Grow your testimonials and use them as third party endorsements for your company and its work.

#11: Grow your image as valuable resource by writing articles, public speaking, and conducting seminars, workshops, teleseminars and webinars.

#12: Grow your ability to be more “business-savvy” and spend more time working “on your business” instead of just working “in your business.”

Business Innovation Business Innovation - Hi Simon If you can finish off the Business Plan and think about your strategic direction or how you are going to use your product to convince people it's a great idea, it will set the foundation for your programming project. You see, when you are looking for funding you will need a Business Plan and Strategic Plan that will convince companies to invest into your new idea. Has anyone achieved this idea before using another industry besides health and fitness that you know of? You should also design some mockups as a "preview" for your programming project. This will also help reduce your programming costs as everyone will know exactly what you want if you have detailed mockups already completed including any functionality you require. Starting mockups for websites and software applications on paper is the best way if you're not a guru in graphic editing software.
Re: Business Coaching Resources Re: Business Coaching Resources - You're fortunate when you can find a Business Coach who has experience beyond where you've been and even where you are going. When your budget is slim and even after, it's good to have a mentor. Several of various backgrounds are very useful. They can be teachers, professors, pastors, business people, family members, bosses and former bosses. You have to be clear on what you want and what you desire to achieve, be able to convey it as simply as possible. Stop and listen and don't over tax their time. You should always expect results whether from a Business Coach or Mentors. If you're not gtting results, you're either not focused or you need to upgrade the quality of your mentors/coaches. Always surround yourself by people smarter than you.
My entry My entry - 1. The Best Business Books Ever: The 100 Most Influential Business Books You'll Never Have Time to Read - this is a fascinating book about the history of Business theory, and I'd recommend it to anybody. 2. The Big Book of Small Business: You Don't Have to Run Your Business by the Seat of Your Pants, by Tom Gegax. Ditto. 3. PADI: The Business of Diving Book Okay, so this book won't be of use to anyone who doesn't want to start a scuba store, but I did, and this book was of course invaluable to me in reaching that goal.
