Are you stressed? Here are four ways to rapidly and effectively get your stress under control. Learn how to optimize your stress levels so they fuel your progress instead of draining your energy.
If you're talkingto friends, family or colleagues, it won't be long before someone is talking about the load of stress they're carrying.
Job stress, family stress, health stress, money stress,
career stress...
Take your pick, and someone you're close to is probably talking to someone right now about being overwhelmed and overstressed in one of those areas.
When it comes to the seriousness of stress, we can certainly oversimplify things. No doubt about it. Life can get complicated.
There is no "secret" to life.
And no "secret" to taming stress.
With that said, sometimes we overcomplicate the subject of stress and how to deal with it.
Here are four ways to tame stress. And they work.
- Assume there are solutions at hand.
To much stress can easily take a toll on our thinking. All of a sudden, everything is horrible and there's nothing we can do about it!
When overwhelmed and overstressed, always remember that there are solutions. It's our job to find and implement them.
Creating better circumstances and a new reality begins internally. But it can't stay there. Take action quickly. Do something, anything. Something different. Experiment.
- Assess your new situation.
If you've taken action, your circumstance has changed. Remember a time when you were overstressed? If you decided to go for a run or hit the weights, didn't that change your situation? Didn't you feel better?
Action changes things. So, take action, then ask yourself if things are better. If so, you're on the right track. If not...
When we are attempting to lower our stress, some things will work, some things not so much. The trick is to keep experimenting until we find several things that work really well. Experiment, adjust as needed.
It's easy to get overwhelmed, get stuck and stay stuck.
It's also easier to improve our situations than we think at times.
It begins with assuming there are solutions.
Because there are.
