Job stress, family stress, health stress, money stress, career stress...
Take your pick, and someone you're close to is probably talking to someone right now about being overwhelmed and overstressed in one of those areas.
When it comes to the seriousness of stress, we can certainly oversimplify things. No doubt about it. Life can get complicated.
There is no "secret" to life.
And no "secret" to taming stress.
With that said, sometimes we overcomplicate the subject of stress and how to deal with it.
Here are four ways to tame stress. And they work.
- Assume there are solutions at hand.
When overwhelmed and overstressed, always remember that there are solutions. It's our job to find and implement them.
- Take action.
- Assess your new situation.
Action changes things. So, take action, then ask yourself if things are better. If so, you're on the right track. If not...
- Adjust as needed.
It's easy to get overwhelmed, get stuck and stay stuck.
It's also easier to improve our situations than we think at times.
It begins with assuming there are solutions.
Because there are.
